Fantastic Sams Cut & Color in American Fork, UT

Keira was very rude and sassy didn't do a great job,I'm a teenager and she was very rude to me and typical Utah valley girl

We called and asked ahead of time if they knew how to work with African American hair, because my husband needed a wash and blowout. They told us for that, it's be $25. They lied and said yes working with African American hair wasn't a problem.
  We get there and they try washing his hair. They had no idea how to blow out his hair and he had to coach them on how to do it. Then they straightened his hair afterwards since the blowout didn't really work. Kept insisting itd take 1.5 hour. Took them 3 hours with two people working on his head. (Normally it takes 2 hours with his one original stylist)
     They ended up charging him $55 for a style since they decided to try straightening his hair. When his braider checked his head the next day, he still had residue in his hair, his hair was still frizzy, and his roots hadn't been blown out at all either. Wouldn't have been an issue if they just honestly said they didn't know how to work with his type of hair like other stylists have. But now I wouldn't even go there for myself.

Up until this day, Fantastic Sams in AF was the only place I'd go to get a haircut. Then today happened. It was a long wait, although it usually is, and after about 25 minutes, I was taken back. The hair treatment I got was pretty simple, and the stylist who did my hair was really pleasant. It took about 3 hours to get my hair done, which wasn't too bad. Then the bill came. Compared to my last visit, which was about 54$ and I got basically the same treatments, it was way more expensive. I ended up paying double, so I asked for my receipt. I was charged for a hair product that they used on my hair. They never once asked me if I wanted this product, they just used it and charged me for it. This is not to mention that it was a product that was not needed for the treatment. When I realized what I was charged for, I went back in and asked about it. Another lady explained that the costs were justified,  and so I stopped pressing. I would not recommend this location. The people working there are really nice, but I definitely feel as though I was scammed.

I am VERY upset. Excuse me if I am mistaken, but doesn't MAKING AN APPOINTMENT at 12:30 by your stylists make MY appointment at 12:30?! I got to the Salon on time yesterday, Saturday Feb 3 2018. I checked in. Lady said I am next in line to be taken back. WRONG. I sat there until 1pm, watching people be checked in and taken back right in front of me. One after another after another! I finally got up and asked WHY? None of them had an answer! Acting dumb, like oh I didn't know you were here waiting still. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How unprofessional is that?! But wait... there's MORE. My appointment was for a simple foil weave, half my head, and a haircut. I explained to the stylist exactly how I prefer it, the correct BLONDE even too. I specifically expressed to her DO NOT use the brassy yellowy blonde color. And what does she do?! MY HAIR IS YELLOW! Tired! Dull looking!! I spent 70 dollars and FIVE HOURS sitting in her chair. She was BEYOND slow! I can't even begin to explain how UPSET I AM!!!! I want my HAIR FIXED! But now I do NOT trust anyone there! I want my money back! I called their phone number and of course they are closed! I am leaving this review and another one on their google page. Oh my gosh I cannot believe HOW LONG she took!  Made me LATE to a birthday party! Left with my hair WET! Didn't even get a cut because she took FOREVER! Then she decides to cut another woman's hair while this bleach is burning my HEAD! I am so pissed off!

I was so disappointed in this location and with our stylist.  My niece, who is 16, was visiting from out of town.  I wanted to do something nice for her, a new look for Christmas, but still reasonable. We consulted with the stylist and requested a partial highlight and trim.  When she was done (after 3 hours) with hair slightly below the shoulders...you couldn't even tell her hair was highlighted.  On top of that she barely spoke to her over 3 hours--awkward! To add insult to injury, she decided to charge more I paid as much as I do at a highly rated salon in town.  NEVER AGAIN
