On June 6, 2023, around noon, the Manger at Essence Spa began giving me a manicure. I said to him, " you really don't like black people". He immediately got irate and started yelling, saying "WHY DID YOU ASK ME THAT."...while pointing his finger toward his forehead he said "ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE SICK IN THE HEAD." I sat there SHOCK. Then he said, "GET OUT" I don't have to serve you. I walked to the door and said, you will hear from me. He followed me out to the parking lot and took a picture of my car. I did call him and asked for number that I could report what happened this afternoon. He hung up on me. I noticed how short temper and rude he could be with his black customer.
I walked in around 4pm I expected it to be busy, I waited a hour & 45 mins for them to say "I thought you were getting a simple manicure? When I clearly wrote fill in & also said that's what I needed. I've waited so long I don't even care at this point. Apparently they don't know how to do a fill (which makes no sense I saw other ppl getting one) in so they CHARGED me to soak my nails off that I was coming in to get filled to just give me a simple manicure I paid $65 was there for 3 HOURS, just to get the worst manicure I've ever got in my life. I would never come back here & I would say go anywhere else in the city bc this isn't right. Misunderstanding happen all the time but this was truly a scam
I went here for 7 years until Teresa left this salon. The owner Tim is so rough and careless. Today I was desperate to get some acrylics removed so I went in and told him I wanted to keep my natural nail length as I was going to get a manicure elsewhere and have been trying to grow them. He could care less and took mail clippers and started chopping down the acrylics to make it easier on him and boom cut off all my real mail that I had waited patiently growing. I would never go here again. The salon is clean and in a good area with fair prices. I
Worst experience rude extremely rude and con artist! Don't speak English nor do they understand and charged me $40 for a pedi and I didn't even get a color!
If you are looking for your skin to be filed off and bleed, your massage rubbed so fast a fire could start or your skin to crack and be sore hours later then this is the place for you! No thanks never going back!
