Escape Uptown Salon & Spa in Erie, CO

Monica did an amazing job on my hair! She gave me a gorgeous balayage and a fantastic haircut. I couldn't be happier with the results. I would highly recommend the salon and especially Monica!

Go see Monica! I just moved to Erie a few months ago and was in dire need of a haircut. Monica was super friendly and did a great job.

My hairdresser was Monica. I told her I wanted it blonder this time so instead of more fine highlights she put in chunky highlights that started at least a 1/2 in from my base.. this will make for a very ugly regrowth. I was reminded many times that I had a lot of hair, and the whole process just seemed to be too much for her.

They are not offering blow drys right now bc of Covid so I saw it once I got home.. they did offer to fix any problems within a week but I won't be going back.

I was referred to Stephanie, called and made and appointment for 2 weeks out. At that time it was discussed that they normally are not doing blowouts right now after a cut. After consideration that I was going from a long hair to a completely new short haircut, an exception was going to be made and that they were willing to go ahead and do a blowout.  Three days before the scheduled appointment I received a call from their receptionist stating that they need to reschedule. I understood, things happen sometimes and so I went ahead and scheduled out another two weeks. Less than 24 hours before my scheduled appointment I get a call from the receptionist. She stated I just want to let you know we're not doing blow outs,, I would be leaving with a wet head of hair after the cut. I explained to her that this was discussed prior to original scheduled appointment and she acted like it shouldn't be a big deal that I could come in a little bit early and it should be fine but she needed just to confirm and call me back in a couple of minutes. I then received a callback over an hour later from someone claiming to be the owner and said that they were not going to make an exception that they were not going to style or blow dry it. I again explained the original conversation and she simply didn't care. Clearly this salon does not communicate with each other and the owner was extremely unprofessional and rude! Definitely would not recommend this salon as they don't stand behind their word. They wasted over a month of my time, whereas if they would've just been honest and upfront from the beginning I could've made a choice at that time.

I have been going to Escape Uptown since 2015 (I support local business), I have always felt my needs were met when getting my haircuts. I have never had a bad haircut here. However, I would really caution those who are going for a hair color treatment, I have gotten my hair colored here twice and do not recommend it. I went in for a balayage and haircut ($140 pre tip), I got nervous when the foils came out as this is not traditionally how the style is meant to be applied, and have ended up with what looks like a partial highlight with four very noticeable streaks near the front of my face. I am too nervous about going back to have them correct it as I don't think it's salvageable... I will not be returning.
