Marsha has been cutting my hair for over two years after every cut my hair is soo amazing and fresh, she is very through and listens fully to what you want.  Her curly hair knowledge is soo extensive and after a lifetime of never getting the right cut and leaving feeling not listened to and with a fluffy mess I am so happy to have found Marsha.  She is our new curly expert here in Portland!! So thankful to have found her!!

The salon is clean and welcoming. The stylists are friendly and fun. The prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend this salon. Jodi was my stylist.  She actually listened & cut my hair the I wanted it not how she thought it should look.

I just received an AMAZING haircut from Doreen. I had an awful cut about two months ago from a stylist at Dosha and decided that I would no longer pay $35 +tip for a botched haircut every month. I have short hair so it does need to be cut every month!

After finally growing out the last hackjob at Dosha, I called around and finally landed at Escapade. Doreen answered and said if I came in right then (I live about 5 minutes away) she could fit me in! I rushed over without a picture and just a description of what I want and complaints of things previous stylists have done.

She interpreted my rambling perfectly! She even advised me about how to work with the strong current in my hair that makes it all want to fall forward in my face and fixed my bangs so that doesn't happen anymore. And the price was great! $25 for my cut and style.

On top of it all she is just a lovely person to spend an hour in the chair with. I would highly recommend Doreen!

NOTES

I have silky, fine, thick hair. I can't speak to her stylings with other types of hair like curly, wirey, or very thin.

If you see "Escapade Salon" on here it's the same place. I'm not sure why they have two entries, though that may be for the beauty school that Doreen teaches for.

The stylists here are independent contractors so call to make an appointment before you go in. They are on their own schedules and probably don't hang around when they don't have appointments.

Amanda Janney at Escapade is a truly talented hair stylist. Not only is she the first person to cut my bangs exactly how I like them but I get excited for our appointments because she's just a great gal to talk with. I am very particular about how my hair is cut and she gets it perfect every time. Also I prefer to color my hair only to cover my greys so she adds in a product to give it shine too as an added bonus. Escapade salon itself is very low key, which I like. It doesn't have a front desk so there's a very friendly, casual feel to it, not a lot of frills but very clean and comfortable. I have a great time every visit and look great afterwards too. And everyone that compliments me on my hair gets to hear "ya gotta go to Amanda Janney, no seriously, she's the best!"
