Edward Johnson Salon in Norfolk, VA

My hair came out great! But I've never ever been to a hair salon where I was charged by the hour.So just know online the price is the starting price, and you'll be charged that for every hour you're sitting in that chair. Online it says it should've been around $300. I paid nearly $600. Probably should mention that hourly detail before the appointment starts. Everyone was very nice but I won't be coming back here.

I'm 2 weeks away from my wedding, and I had to cancel a long standing appointment with my usual salon because of work conflicts. I was in a bind and decided to try out Edward Johnson salon because a coworker with beautiful hair has been a few times and liked them. I could not more highly recommend them. Rachel is FANTASTIC. 99% of the time I'm the kind of girl that says, "whatever you think is fine" but this time I had specific requests due to my wedding on the horizon and she delivered! I haven't had my hair colored in 6 months and now you'd never know. If you get the chance to request someone, Rachel is fantastic!

I'm now working downtown and in need of blowdry and style at least twice a week. I gave this salon a try and was extremely disappointed. First of, when I called, the receptionist didn't speak in full sentences, she mumbled her words through the conversation and I had to ask her to repeat again and again. She had an unpleasant attitude and was not eager to speak in a normal voice (no disability here as I found out when I came to the salon). She scheduled me with a stylist, and before I made the appointment, I asked for the price. At first she said that she doesn't know (really???) so I said that I'm not scheduling until I know. She placed me on hold and finally she quoted "around $45.00." I came in and got the worst service: no towel around my neck when the stylist washed my hair, I got wet all around my neck and down my back. I was dressed for work. As for the blowdry, I do a better job at home with grocery products, very dissapointing. When I came to pay, I was quoted $65.00. Really, for a blowdry and style? How outrageous especially when I was quoted over the phone $45.00. Unpleasant place, unpleasant employees, unprofessional service, OVER PRICED. I left a message to one of the owners with the same mumbling receptionist but nobody called me back. So take your chances if you are new to this salon. Good luck!
