MK Nails & Spa in Norfolk, VA

I stopped in yesterday to ask about prices and availability. I made an appointment for today and randomly ended up with Jack for my pedicure and Ana for my dip manicure. Both did an awesome job. (The last place I went said they knew how to do dip, but clearly did not...) MK is small and a little run-down, but it's the first place I've ever gone that doesn't feel like a factory trying to get as many people in and out as quickly as possible. Both techs were friendly and paid attention to detail. The best part is, the prices were very reasonable (lower than average) and the place is convenient to get to.

I have been here once before and it was a great experienc. I had a little extra to spend on my self for once and eldecided to go here since I enjoyed it 2 yrs ago. after trying to explain what I was looking for to at least 3 people. I was told by 2 different ppl my idea couldn't be done and that it would be ugly. I have been growing out my own nails for a while and some of them are shorter than the other. all I was looking for is a French manicure style with nail designs. they said this can't be done. I got a standard pedicure that by the time it was finished I really wish I could've left way before I started. this was the WORST experience in a nail salon I've ever had!! it cost me $80 not including a tip! I can't believe they treat people like this!! with the way the world is going I doubt they'll be in business too much longer! terrible!! never had anyone treat me like this. don't go there I work hard and I could've gone somewhere much better then this!

I have been to mk nails before and had a pleasant experience. This past time, was the first time i got the old lady. She was very rude and absolutely unprofessional because of THEIR mistakes. She told me "nobody is going to be looking at my nails that closely". I paid for a service and got bad service so i wanted it fixed. Will be going elsewhere and what a shame i have to do so since i have brought them alot of business. The old man and anna have been fine. Anna does tend to have quite an attitude though. Overall, this shop is ghetto.

made an appointment for 9:30, showed up at 9:30, sat in the waiting area until 11 when I decided to just leave. I understand being understaffed but please dont accept appointments if you cant do them, it was a waste of my morning.

Got a full set of acrylic french tip, about $70 for the set I got which I don't think is TOO bad considering everyone's prices are so high. Anna did an amazing job, she did not rush anything which I loved and she was very sweet also! Did I mention I had my baby in my lap the whole time? She was so patient with him as well overall this place was great, the atmosphere is a little outdated but I don't care about any of that!
