True Weave Spa in Norfolk, VA

i couldn't post zero stars. don't go here. they have combined with the beauty school which they don't tell you when booking your appointment. the girl removed my faux locs. she cut a whole section of my natural hair. i didn't find out until i got home because she washed, blowed dried and put my hair in a ponytail. at one point she was whispering with the supervisor but made it seem like everything was cool. nobody said anything. i had to find out when i started combing my hair. lack of integrity from owner, supervisor, and student stylist. the worse experience ever. "honest mistake" is what they are calling it. bs because the girl knew wtf she did because that's why she was whispering. no way she didn't see it after she washed and blow dried my hair. and she didn't sat word i had to find out on my own. lies.

Appointment was at 9 didn't start until about 9:30 well almost 10:45 by the time it was done being washed , very overprice and I feel like I didn't get what I paid for or wanted at all.. Definitely NOT returning to this place. Unorganized.. wouldn't recommend. Asking for small medium braids and pretty much making me get large isn't cool. They make you pay upfront .. something I'll never do again. Wanted to go to this salon cause I went when they were in a different location so I didn't expect anything to go wrong. Was told that the type of hair I purchased wasn't the best from another young lady helping on my hair while I was getting braided and felt extremely offended because why did it matter at that point... took 4 people to wash shampoo out my hair , the older lady came and tried to help but literally just dug her nails in my scalp.. definitely should've left once I realized that upon arrival no one was there to start my hair. My thing is you live and you Learn but since True weave merged with a hair it was a full 360 from when I got serviced a while back. I genuinely don't like leaving negative reviews or reviews at all but I definitely had to.

The shop is very unprofessional in its presentation and in how the stylists interact with one another in the presence of the customers. I was told at the time of my appointment (with a new stylist who was very young) that the style I was requesting to have done was not conducive due to the condition of my hair and that the style I requested to have done would look "ugly" on me. Her comment to me attracted the attention of another stylist and client which caused them both to laugh which was very insulting to me. I have never been told this or spoken to in this manner by any other stylist before. Nevertheless, I didn't get my hair done and was given the option to come back to the shop at a later date to have a wig installed (which I didn't want and would cost more money) completed. I later went to a different stylist at another shop and he did exactly what I requested AND gave me an in-service hair tutorial on how to keep my hair beautiful and healthy. I will never refer anyone to ever patron their establishment.

Bad communication, lazy and messed up the color I wanted in my head . I wanted my hair purple and it came out blue

This is my 6th bad experience here. I have tried to give them a chance. Today I got passed over for other customers even though I had an appointment at 3. It is currently 7 and my hair still isn't done. My stylist had to stop doing my hair to do a dye job because no one else was qualified to do it. She's also on the phone with the help desk for their credit card system which went down. So as it stands she is doing a dye job, crocheting my hair, and doing IT work to try and get their credit card system up. When I came to get my hair braided a while ago the girl did the wrong size even though there was a mannequin head that shows the sizes and I used it to show which size I wanted. Every time I come here I either don't like the style and someone has to fix it or I end up waiting hours to get my hair done. I can't keep trying to give a business my money that obviously doesn't want it. Some of the stylists do really good work but some aren't good at all. Unless you are desperate, save your time and money go somewhere else. I generally don't like leaving reviews like this but I've even talked to managers offline in the past and they just don't get it. Time is money. Update: It's 4/26/2022 Just received a call from them asking if I'd like to come in for a hairdo since I haven't been back since the incident above. SERIOUSLY!!!!!
