I recently visited this parlour and the experience was horrible. As special a day as Karva Chauth was approaching, and I was looking for a couple of services like henna for my palms, and an Indian hair up do. To start with, they have this very smart practice of quoting wrong rates on phone prior to your appointment, and once it's made, you will be told by the lady in charge by the name of Mita that the same needs to be checked with the girl who provides the service. You'll soon realize the rate has shot up abnormally and they are charging you a bomb for nothing! I was told mehendi for hands, which means not full arms will cost $30 ($15 per hand) and there was no mention of the charges varying on the basis of deigns. So it could be as intricate as I wanted it to be right??? Once I was there for the service, the lady doing the mehendi, by the name of Meghna started quoting unreasonable amounts with no designs to show as a sample. All she had to say was, if I wanted to fill up my whole palm, it'll be more than $35. That too she specified for only the inner palms and the back of my palm to be left bare. For even a simple chain to be drawn, she and her manager Mita unanimously decided to charge me another $5 per upper palm which I agreed hoping they'll make my hands look good. But I was wrong. During the session, Meghna tried getting too personal by asking a volley of irrelevant questions and the end result of her service came out pretty much less than decent. My upper palms were finished in a haste and the mehendi paste wasn't fresh and smelled of a strong chemical which later in next two days dried my skin leaving it flaky and peel off. The color of the henna was pale despite all the precautionary measures followed by me to darken it and most of the joints in the design ended up in a mess. The next day I was supposed to visit them for an Indian up do and it was Pinky who tried her hands on my hair. The worst part, the staffs are extremely unprofessional, at times rude, and refuse to understand and respect what the customer wants. I had shared a couple of pictures of my earlier up does with them to make the task easy, and I was promised the instructions will be followed. Once Pinky took over, she started acting very smart and blatantly told on my face that she is gonna try on me what is 'popular in the market' and that the images I shared had my hair poorly done. How dared she??? My demand was very clear and specific that I wanted my fringe in the front to show whereas she kept over spraying my hair to an extent that all my hair was pulled back in a bun making it look artificial and my forehead broad. Every time I tried asking her to go as per the guideline I gave her, she cared two hoots and misbehaved with me. This took me one and half hour whereas this was a job to be completed in half an hour. This was simply due to her whims, confusions and manhandling of my hair. The owner Mita kept walking up and down, but never bothered to check if I was satisfied or had any doubts. To top it all, once my hair was done, I had to ask Pinky to re pin my sari palloo as it as slightly inuneven and she had the audacity to tell me - 'you pay me the amount for an entire sari draping service, and I will do it for you. Your attire looks bad and it has been draped incorrectly'!!! She kept on pestering me for the same until I had to walk off to call my husband to come and pick me up as I simply wanted to leave. The manager never intervened as Pinky's pitch kept getting higher but I am a tough nut to crack hence it wasn't easy for her to make a fool out of me for another 10$ to $20 for a sari draping and palloo pin up. I was finally charged $40 for the up do and was told it is because the process took a lot of time and effort and Ms. Mita never bothered to investigate that the delay was owing to Pinky's inappropriate service rendering and disobeying of a customers's needs and desires. I wanted to give her a feedback on last few services since the henna day and she denied to lend me an ear. Possibly because she had other clients waiting in the queue to be enticed and looted like untaught blockheads. I am never gonna return to Cutting Edge and my dissatisfaction as well as bad taste of the services, staff treatment and the result shall hinder me from trying any other Indian parlour easily now on in New Jersey. The basic difference between a parlour run by ladies from our country striving hard to fatten their pockets in every possible way, from a local American parlour is - the former doesn't care to lose a customer in their uncontrolled temptation of quenching the maximum out of you bringing in more often than not a below average output and the latter always ensures how to retain a client by offering discounts/waive offs for the sake of a long term customer goodwill and their return

Lemon tree situated at Talmadge road, Edison, NJ is highly not recommended for haircuts. I had a bad experience. I was a new client and had no appointment. They kept me waiting for 30 mins. After 30 long mins of wait the attendant took me for my haircut. I wanted straight cut till shoulder length with bangs. The lady who was attending me seemed like she is going to shave my head off completely. The lady didn't even check whether my hair is equally or evenly cut. After coming home when I used my flats to straighten my hair I realised left hand side hairs were shorter than the right hand side and it looked so weird. I had to go there again to get it to equal length. But still they are not evenly cut. And it shows. There is no professionalism in that salon. The owner wanted an idiot and there she is. Lemon tree at Talmadge road soon. going to change their name to Cutting Edge. My first and last visit there for sure. If anyone is planning to go there for the first time be prepared for the worst.

Do not go there unless you're a regular - or be prepared to wait for ages. They will always take people they know before a new customer (regardless of whether they had an appointment) - and the haircut is no great shakes either.
