I love the Chop Shop and have been coming here for years. John is a great guy and is always willing to go out of his way to special order any specific product you are looking for. His CAB Prime is insanely good and his Wagyu Good is outrageously wonderful. I drive from Catonsville every Christmas to pickup my specialty meats from the Chop Shop and hope locals will continue to support him as well! Great job John, see you next year! (Below is a picture of the CAB Prime tenderloin I cooked this year.

I have long, wavy, Caucasian hair and A LOT of it. I told my stylist, Lisa H. that I REALLY didn't want to lose any length, but I did want to de-bulk and thin out my hair because there's just way too much of it! I've had my hair thinned out many times before, but I always get anxious beforehand because there's been SO many times where the end result is choppiness and certain pieces bluntly cut, not flowing. I'm pleased to say my hair looks FAB! I got so many compliments and there's no choppiness! It feels so much better and lighter (no more hair headaches and falling pony tails, yay!). The blow out was also fantastic, she first smoothed it out with the blow dryer then styled with curling iron. My total was $65 for cut, shampoo/condition, and style. I can't afford that price for my frequent trims but I'll definitely be back twice a year when I need a real cut. I'm so impressed by Lisa and her salon! It's unique and kitschy, super Bal'more HON style ;) All the staff are women and are super sweet and down to earth. They offer coffee, tea and water. There is free street parking and also a lot right next door (Safeway's grocery, but you can use it). She informed me about products and gave me tips/tutorials on how to keep my hair healthy and was NOT at all product pushy. I can't wait to go back and would recommend this salon to anyone!!!!

My hair is difficult. I have patterns of curly and wavy. I have patches of thin and thick. I have never had a better hair styling experience. I work with both Laney and Lisa and they are both amazing. I'm able to even play with different cuts and styles and be adventurous more than I have ever been. Customer for life.

First let me say that I don't write a lot of reviews it has to be something pretty remarkable..bad or good for me to write a review. I have struggled....I have had so many terrible and I mean unbelievably bad short haircuts in Baltimore. Haircuts that at times have cost me over a hundred dollars for the cut alone. I have tried literally 50 different stylists since I moved to Baltimore twelve years ago....granted I am super picky. I also had a great experience at Sprout..but I have a hard time finding parking in Hampden and when my mother died the receptionist was a total asshat when I forgot to cancel my appointment...which was during my mothers funeral. Anyway I digress... Having said that.....Little did I know that the best haircut I have ever had was in walking distance from my house in Beverly Hills. Laney Turner-Miller at The Chop Shop gave me the best haircut of my life! Laney gave me a short hair cut that demonstrated true artistry. She was amazing. It was a great experience in every aspect. Making an appointment was easy online. They didn't try to pressure me into services or a haircut I wasn't into...They didn't try to push products I didn't need on me. Its a quirky little shop with old school Baltimore Hon charm and they offer you great coffee, wine, whisky or water to boot! Tips: Make your appointment online. They have a half price deal so that if you have short hair you come back every three weeks for a maintenance trim...AMAZING! Park in the Safeway parking lot and walk over...on street parking can get scarce but the lot is super close and always has a convenient spot. Since you are in the neighborhood...walk a few doors down and celebrate your new cut with a crab cake and drink at KOKO's or pop over to Maggies Farm which is practically next door. If you make an appointment at 3:00 on Tuesdays you will finish up just in time to walk over and hit the Hamilton farmers market across from Safeway! Very kid friendly
