Carmen! Carmen! Prestige Salon Northlake (AVEDA + Rewards Salon) in Charlotte, NC

Last Saturday I had an appointment at 4:00pm for an event I had that night with Samaritan's Feet. I was attending a 1920's themed nonprofit event and seriously nervous about the amount of time I had to make myself (a mother of 3) look glam in no time. I ordered a dress last minute and left the house only discover I had ordered it across town from my hair appointment. Freaking out I called my husband who packed up the kids and rushed to get my dress. Trying to calm down I sat for my cut and started to talk with Akya Canada. She instantly made me fill at ease while she trimmed my cut from a cancer donation the year before. I then moved on to the style portion where Crystal Wilson, Najla Trotter, Tiffany Ashemore, and again Akya Canada jumped in. I had no time and I made no promises in payment to any of these ladies only the concern on my face set them all into action. They completed my makeup, a fabulous 20's style finger wave, and eye lashes to boot. All in time for me to make it to the ball like Cinderella. They made me feel special, beautiful, and oh so worthy. Mark that down Carmen because you have some amazing ladies in your establishment that are making you shine in the brightest light God has ever created. Thank you ladies, it has been some time since I felt that special. I truly felt like a princess.

I called and asked the manager for an appointment for a full color, highlights and a cut. She said she had to call her stylist and get back to me. She calls back, says no prob, come at 5:15 tomorrow. I went into the salon that evening to show her my hair/length and she says we're good to go.

I arrive and am checked in, confirming the services, and the lady at the desk confirms them and says the price is will be $180. I sit and wait.

10 minutes later Dora comes out. We begin the consultation. She argued with me every step of the way. She said they closed at 8 so no way we could do everything, when another staffer said they could actually go until 10. She clearly didn't want to stay. That's fine, but why take the appointment in the first place? She says we can only do half my roots, not a full foil and no highlights. I almost got up and excused myself, and I wish I had.

It was so much back and forth with her it was exhausting. Finally I said to her and the other lady there was still an inch of roots and my hair was yellow. She left for 15 minutes and I heard her complaining about me to another employee. She then came back out, put a color wash on me in the sink, was very aggressive, got it all over my forehead and ears, and the water was way too hot. It was horrible. She then tried to start my haircut, which I declined. No chance I was letting her near me with scissors.

The final product was grey roots, and patchy yellow blond hair. The people at my office called me Lemonhead.

What I was supposed to receive:

Full color, highlights and cut - $180

What I received:

Half color, crown only - $112

So apparently a half color, cut, and highlights is only $58!

Give me a break. Horrible, rude service, terrible results, and dishonest charges.

They did tell me I'll get 10% off my next visit! Hah!

Ali has been cutting/coloring my hair for over a year now. I look forward to my visits not only because she makes my hair look amazing, but she's always fun to chat with. She is very helpful with giving suggestions when I'm unsure of what to do and she executes the look I'm trying to achieve every time!

Ali has been cutting my hair for years she is  always so kind listens carefully to what I need it's always been a pleasure having my hair cut at this salon. Outstanding!
