California Nails in Monroe, LA

I will never NEVER attempt to be serviced by California nails. I recently visited Pecanland mall to get a pedicure and wax. I signed in and was asked what services were needed. The owner told me that there was a wait.  ok. fine. After an hour, another black female asked if they'd called me yet and responded no. She said 6 "white" ladies walked in and are already being serviced. I said to myself "maybe they had and appointment." I sat a little longer then noticed another white female enter the business, sign the walk in sheet, and be seated immediately.

I was completely shocked. I was to the desk and asked the owner if they'd called me to be sure that I wasn't getting ahead of myself with negativity and he said no. I looked at the sheet and to my surprise all of those Caucasian women signed in beneath me and were provided with the same services that I was getting.

I left the business and received services at Nail Creations  where I felt welcomed. The experience shocked me and could not believe that it was so obvious.   I will never support the company again. Nor will I support any company that is affiliated with it. I left there feeling hurt but then i thought their lost

if I could give negative review I would! first I asked if they had wax for the pedicure they said yes and DONT. charge you for a deluxe and nothings deluxe about it. I'm not even gone shadow the toes because they worse than the nails. DO NOT GO HERE!! you can tell regular customers they are greeted and seated First!! Service -100

I think they want to rip you off. Went in for gel fingernails nails and painted toes...the fingernails didn't turn out great - I had nail polish on the skin surrounding my nails when I left that wasn't cleaned up. She asked me if I wanted a little gems on the nails, so I said sure. She said $5 for gems. Didn't realize it was $5 *PER NAIL* and how much of an up-charge that is. She also kept messing up my nails, had to grind them down and repaint a few times. My nails were pretty thin after that.

Finally - and this is the kicker - I go for a little paint on my toenails. Feet are soaking. AFTER my feet are soaking she tells me that she can't do regular paint, ONLY gel because the drying machines aren't back yet because of  "covid".  If you've been in this salon you know they don't give two craps about covid because they PACK YOU IN LIKE SARDINES. They want all the business they can get,  but can't bring in the drying machines because you might get covid. No, they're not bringing in the drying machines because they can up-charge people who didn't happen to wear sandals that day for gel toenails.

My bill was $120 before tip.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I've been to several nail shops before, but this was the worst. The service was rushed, it's crowded, nasty feeling. My nails look awful after getting a gel manicure and my toes look just as bad. All around a bad place. Also, was more expensive than other places I've been. 0/10 experience

Nails came out really pretty she also did good job on my pedicure because my feet bad due to working long hours. My nail tech was really nice and professional I really liked that. Only negative is it's a lil crowded but overall good experience
