Cactus Blossom Beauty Salon in Tucson, AZ

*VERY WEIRD & UNCOMFORTABLE* Great clips Does better. I called and made an appointment for 2pm, I get in there at 2, sign in and wait for 45 minutes. I think I'm about to get my haircut when a haircuter finishes with someone but instead they ask him "what song he wants to play??!"and they're gonna have a "dance party!". The entire staff was on theirs phones recording the haircuter and the customer dancing, while they're blasting the crappy music he choose. An worker looked at me and i looked back like what the hell is going on here and i left, very very weird and uncomfortable experience and I say no one should go to this place unless they absolutely love their time getting wasted or want a shitty concert.

I was really hopeful about this salon, my hair had only been highlighted once since Covid and when I went in for my appointment, I was told by the stylist that my hair was really healthy. I wanted a cut and I wanted a foil with blond highlights, no orange or brassy tones. I loved the cut, but, my hair did not have blond highlights, it was darker than what I wanted. The stylist said next time it would be blond, she didn't want to ruin my hair. The owner came over and I explained that I wanted blond streaks, she said not to worry, we'll take care of you next time. The reviews on my hair from friends regarding the 'new' blond color were disappointing. I went back a few month later for my appointment, ended up with a different stylist, the other one had apparently left, not long after she did my hair. I showed this stylist a picture of what I had been having done to my hair from another state, explained I wanted blond streaks and no red or brassy looking hair. She finished and my eyes started bubbling up with tears, red hair. The owner came over and said the first stylist had dyed my hair brown on top and that's why the foil didn't take. The stylist tried again and I ended up with splotchy and brassy roots on one side of my head. The owner said, don't worry, we'll take care of you next time you come in. This is a professional business and the expectation is that the stylists that are working on the clients hair are trained to know what they are doing. That's why the I paid what I did to have my hair done the way I wanted, especially when there are pictures of my hair with the desired highlights from another state. My hair is naturally brown. I left in tears without the offer from the owner to fix what the stylist messed up, and was still charged the full amount, twice for around $250.00 + total. Not good business practices, especially when you can see the customer was upset and could tell my hair was exactly what I did not want. I found another salon that gave me the highlights that I wanted the first time at half the price.

My first time coming to this place due to a recommendation of my coworker. And I didn't regret my decision. Tanay took good care of me and she was very patient and very professional. This will be my salon of choice from now on. The salon itself is huge and clean. Their chairs are new and very comfortable.

Edit: Yes, I arrived early, but you were still late by 30 minutes. I even have time stamps shown in a text message I sent to a family member telling him that you hadn't even started. It's unbelievable how much these people spin things to suit their narrative. Now, if you actually read my review, my main complaint was that you hardly put any face frame highlights at all. They are nearly non-existent and poorly done, poorly placed around the face. I wasn't complaining so much about the color as it had already been explained to me that it would take another appointment to get the box color out. I understood that. I'm not sure why you're bringing that up. You had an attitude about having to stay to do a patch test. You DID tell me that the chemical is natural. Why do you continue to lie? Why would I allow someone with an attitude about a patch test come anywhere near my eyes? You very clearly didn't want to be there and I'm not going to risk having someone like that rushing a job near a sensitive area. I never yelled. I was actually crying because of how I was being treated. The two of you trying to gaslight me about the price. I never threw money at the receptionist face. Why would I? She's the only kind person in the salon. The money was on the counter, stop fabricating stories.

Katie did a great job on my cut/ color service. The salon is cute and well maintained. All the other stylists were very attentive with their clients as well. Looking forward to my next appointment already!
