I had my 1st salon appt  with Alycia at the South Kansas City store on Jan 26, 22.   It was a great appt, probably the best experience with a hair cut I have ever had.  Alycia looked at the pictures I had on my phone, talked to me about them, and did an amazing cut.  She used product and styled my new cut.  She recommended a product which I purchased, the most expensive hair product I had ever purchased.  I left the store beaming, loving my hair and loving the experience.

I had my 2nd appt with Alycia on Sept 26, 2022.  It could not have been more opposite from the 1st.  I took my phone out to show pictures to Alycia, she barely glanced at my phone, and asked me no questions about them.  I figured she had looked up notes (possibly) from my 1st appt and knew what she had done before.

She cut my hair, it was way shorter in the back then I wanted and she never offered a mirror for me to look at the back.  I didn't realize how short she went in the back till I got home.

She used no product on my hair and took no time to style it either.  She offered no suggestions or any additional product to help with my new cut.

When she wrote up my receipt she said that "we don't have any gender neutral prices and since I didn't take long on your hair I am only charging you for a men's cut".  Now granted, I have an asymmetrical cut with an undercut, but I am not gender neutral.  I am female and I was highly offended by her making a reference to me as gender neutral.  It even says I was given a "mens cut" on my account.

I appreciate she not charging me for time she didn't spend with me, but I would much rather her have spent the extra time, styled my hair, used product, etc like she did the time before.

I absolutely hate my hair, I am very subconscious, I've been wearing a baseball cap when I leave the house.  All I can think of is that it looks gender neutral.

I don't know if Alycia was having a bad day or what happened but I will not be back to find out.  I felt I needed to say something.  I can't wait for my hair to grow out enough to get another style, from someplace else.

Wow thought I was going to come home with clean hair and nice style. I called and asked to book a hair cut. Told them I wanted layers added to my hair. I showed up this afternoon after I'd showered at home but with dirty hair. I was checked in and the very pleasant stylist asked what I wanted I said layers in my hair. She put a cape on me and combed my hair and started cutting. She appeared to know what she was doing. I asked do you normally cut dry and then wash and style? (I have seen that rarely) she said you were booked for a bangs trim and I don't have time. I told her that was a scheduling issue and not yours. After 15 min it was all done. She gave me a ticket for a Women's haircut and I went to check out. They asked how was it today. I said a big disappointment . I explained what I thought I scheduled and what I got. And that now I had to go home take a second shower and fix my hair. The staffer said we'll you're bill is for a Women's haircut. I didn't get what the website list is included in a haircut. They came back and charged me a bang trim which I thought was appropriate and I left. I did give the stylist $10 tip as she did not schedule me wrong. Very disappointed that scheduling staff could totally mess this up.

This location needs help.  I usually enjoy Beauty Brands stores, but this time I was greeted by an associate who helped me find my product, handed it to me and left. Training should have taught follow up questions/statements; "Can I help you find something else?", "We have some great sales right now.",   "Let me show you some of our fantastic, new items."  At check-out the counter person was stoic.  She rang me up, put the item in a bag with no comment, no smile, no "thank you."  I asked if there were any samples today and she shook her head no.  Although this location is nearby, I will go elsewhere for my products.

I always get my hair done by Ellie. I have never been disappointed at all! Today, they hired a massage therapist so I gave her a shot! Lindy was amazing with her pressure and really focused on my areas that needed the most attention. Lindy was great for me because she is not scared to use her strong hands! She often asked if the pressure was too much and her soft relaxing touches were just as good! She is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of recommendations on how to help my body feel better throughout the day. Ellie and Lindy both are very easy to get along with. I haven't had a negative experience with anyone at Beauty Brands!

I went here in the hopes of fixing a haircut. That did not work.

I don't understand how this works, these guys went to school to learn how to cut hair. But instead of doing what's right for the customer, I was told they don't use electric razor. I can't remember a time where doing the right thing to appease a client became secondary to policy?

So instead of leaving with a haircut they would've fixed the issue, I'll leave with yet another shitty haircut.

Your guess is as good as mine here....
