Be Inspired Salon in Madison, WI

My worst experience in a hair salon EVER was here, with Samantha. She was snarky and rude, and any attempt at conversation was met with one word answers. She barely touched head during the wash, and did not use conditioner at all (not good for curly hair). I heard they offer hand massages, but that did not happen. She never pulled each side down to check that both sides were even. One of the worst things was that she immediately took at least 10 inches off right from the start, after I said I wanted to keep my length (almost to my waist when I went in, up to my shoulders when I left). I had to go to Target to get a hat before I did anything else that day. My next stylist told me that she only cut one side of my head (layers on one side, not the other). No wonder I could only pull it back after the haircut! To top it all off, even after a couple of years now, they STILL won't stop hounding me to come back in. I have spoken to managers 3 times, asking them to stop. A few months later, they start harassing me again. I can't believe how much money they took from me. They are not getting any more. Ever. Be careful if you go. Walk out if you are treated like me.

The salon is cute and easy to get to with plenty of parking. I have naturally dark brown hair and have been getting blonde highlights for years. I had about 2-3 inches of grow out and grey strands. I brought in pictures of what I was looking for which was a new color direction for me, silver/grey blonde highlights. I went for a partial instead of full and so the end result was gold, silver and grey colors. I really like it. I have to admit when I walked out of the salon the toner had made some of the highlights more of a blue which was unpleasant at first but after two washes it's perfect. I had Sasha do my hair. She is really nice and talented.

I won't be going back to Be Inspired. I had a stylist I liked and I liked her work. I just saw her last week and she gave me a great cut and style. I scheduled the next appointment with her in 6 weeks. Today I got an email from the salon that my appointment was canceled. They left me a voice mail that she was no longer working there and they wanted to schedule me with someone else. Nope. The same thing happened before with a previous stylist there that I really liked. I was growing my hair out then so I hadn't seen her for a while and since I didn't know what happened I let it go. Stylists need to be careful about working there- these ladies were very professional, very detail oriented and I always felt like I had a great style when I left. I don't want to go to a salon that doesn't appreciate good stylists.

Poor service and quality of work. Overcharge and don't care about clients. Don't know how to run a salon!

I was one hour under 24 hours when cancelling and only because their phone lines were busy and I had to call multiple times and I still had to pay a 50% cancellation fee which amounted to almost $100...$100 for absolutely nothing for being under one hour 24 hours. I love my stylist at Be Inspired but when you do something like this to me, you've lost me as a customer.
