Amanda's 5 Star Salon in Towson, MD

The customer service is horrible. I've been three times to this salon and twice I booked online with the online app. Both times I did not receive a confirmation and when I arrived during my time the owner "Amanda" was confused on who I was and why I was there and what style was needed. Ultimately the hair style was amazing but the service was not. I have called the salon numerous times during business hours and receive no answer, and a return phone call about an hour later. I called today twice to make an appt. I received a return phone and I attempted to make my appt over the phone. I advised "Amanda's" of the booking app concern I had, and she "Amanda" advised me that there is no issue with the app and for me to go to another hair salon. I again attempted to explain that I had no issue with the styling but due to the fact most people have schedules to adhere to, I needed to be sure that my booking time slot would be honored and that my hair can be started upon arrival because that has not been the case for my first 3 appointments. The conversation concluded with "amanda" stating that she doesn't know me personally and I don't know her personally and there are no issues at all with her salon therefore I should go to another salon. I was continually interrupted during our conversation when trying to explain to her the issue with me booking on the app. amanda took it very personally instead of a constructive criticism where a paying customer is genuine enough to advise you of booking complications that could hinder future business. ultimately , the Customer service has gotten to a point where I do not feel valued as customer who also brought in other paying customers.

I went to have my hair trimmed.. let's start with first the prices are listed on the website I called she told me this and to book online. For a trim it states $15 so I arrived with my hair freshly washed and none straight... she sat me in the chair and proceeded no to say it's gonna be $25 Red flag number 1... then she doesn't look at my ends to see how damaged they are or where the spilt ends are most she just proceeds to cut my hair straight across at the bottom then gets clippers and does it again straight acrosss.... Like!?! RES FLAG #2 Mind you I had LAYERS not a blunt cut... she didn't lift one piece of hair to trim the ends so all of my layers above where she just bluntly cut weren't touched at all and none of those split ends were cut... so I paid $25 for something that was suppose to be $15 and literally only got my bottom layer of hair cut.... i won't be returning and now understand why these reviews are the way they are.

Let's start with that they are not at the salon unless they have an appointment. I called twice until I finally spoke with someone and was told to schedule it on their website for the next day and I should get a confirmation. I went online around 11am and schedule the appointment for the next morning. Around 7pm, I still had not received a confirmation, so I sent a text to confirm. No answer. It was iMessage and it said delivered. Next morning, still did not hear back. I called and no answer. So my review is solely based on their customer service experience and I'm not impress. I will not be using their services.

Everything! My appointment was scheduled at 10am .. I didn't start until 12:30pm. Amanda constantly denied cutting my hair ad I wanted and needed a big chop! She basically told me I wouldn't look right with the cut and encouraged keeping dead/burnt hair! Further more my highlights are only in the front and a solid color in the back. My hair is falling out and constantly catching to my clothes! She declined giving me a relaxer even though her service says you can do both... my initial appointment email says I would need a BIG CHOP OR RELAXER!!! She declined both and basically did what she wanted. I'm a professional and require a professional look when working.. I currently look like a little girl with box color... my ends aren't even trimmed, Amanda robbed me and I will not allow it, I'll be disputing this transaction! I do not suggest African Americans go there bc she will not provide nutritional support. She blow dryer and flat ironed my hair knowing I had heat damage, even though I asked for waves!!! I'm pissed and plan to let everyone know!!! The website lies so much and be prepared to wait bc she's the only person working there and based on how much she lies I can imagine why!!! FURTHERMORE, she spoke in Spanish with a female on the phone and constantly said I was loco bc I questioned what she was doing and why her communication is so bad.. to be honest, the old I me would have dragged her from her shop!!!! IM LIVID!

If you need to pick up a wish item they aren't very flexible. What kind of business only lets you pick your order up on Tuesdays? Forget having a life or anything outside of picking up an item. They don't care if you may be sick and unable to pick up . They don't care that you might get charged for missing the pick up date . They only care about themselves . They think someone would feel unfair if they gave you your order on a different day . Super silly and ridiculous. Doesn't seem professional at all: don't give them service please .
