Allure Nail Salon & Spa Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC

Been going here since I moved the Ballantyne area. Always super nice staff, always gives you a drink and has very reasonable prices. I love this salon!

My first time at this spa was alright, hospitality is always a factor and they get you in fairly quick. My second and last time going to the spa was awful, The woman rushed through the service causing injuries with a quick apology then would continue to rush through their services. I was informed by my primary nail tech that they used an illegal chemical causing the toenail on my left foot to deteriorate and she was not able to provide service for me until it healed completely. Safe to say I have not visited said business since

I have been here before and had a good experience. I did a walk in today and there were 2 other customers.  There were also 2 workers.  My basic pedicure was rushed and not done well.  The soak was cold to the point I took my feet out.  That happened twice. Cuticles were done sloppy. The woman who was working on me rushed to get back to the other person in the salon who (it appeared) was getting a more complicated mani/pedi.  That customer had both workers working on her. I will not be back here and will have to go somewhere else to get pedi re-done.  

It's a shame.  I had liked this place in the past.

I took my daughter here for her first mani/pedi.  Our service was wonderful.  She had a blast and they were so kind and patient with her.  As a three year old, she's not great at sitting still.  They did a fantastic job on my gel manicure as well.  It took almost three weeks before my first chip and that occurred trying to rip open a package, so it was most likely my fault.

I hate to give bad reviews but I just can't let this go. I was in the area and didn't have time to make it to my regular salon so decided to walk in here since they were open until 7:30pm. I just knew I should have followed my gut and waited until I could go to my regular salon but I said what could go wrong? Well....just about everything.
The place is not well kept and there was a lot of clutter and dust. They had me put my feet in the tub before lining it and then they couldn't figure out how to get the pump on correctly. I did a pedicure and SNS. Normally I prefer to do both at once but there was no room to do so. The lady doing my hands cut half my nail off with the drill and hurt me really bad and she didn't take any accountability or say sorry and just kept drilling. A huge chunk of my nail was missing and a huge divot at the tip of my nail.
Around me I also heard another pedicure lady hurt a lady she was doing and even made her hold her own leg up for her so she could do the scrubbing tool.
The pedicure was fine and the massage was great.
The nails just kept getting worse. She had to redo the SNS on a couple fingers multiple times and the top coat was extremely goopy and sticky and the fan she gave me kept falling over onto my hands which then she had to redo again.
There also was bugs crawling around and the place smelled of warmed up food.
I was charged $95 and I will not be returning.
