6 Salon in Birmingham, MI

I have been going to 6 Salon in B'ham for years. Colleen is the best...I followed her to 6 Salon from a previous salon she was at. I would highly recommend her, cause I'm not sure what I would do without her!! There's not always enough room in the waiting area (even in the new place) and there's not much interaction from the front desk...they are always moving on the next customer before you're done asking questions or want to schedule your next appt. They don't make you feel very welcome, but I'm not there to see them so it doesn't bother me too much. The stylists know what they are doing and are friendly. When I look around at the other customers, they all seem happy with their cut/color.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored here for several years now. I go to the Birmingham location but have been to Royal Oak. This salon is busy, and when you check in, sometimes there is no place to sit. That should change now that they are moving to a larger location, still in downtown Birmingham, in a few months. When I check in they always offer me something to drink. They are always checking to make sure I have everything I need, a magazine or something to drink during my time there. Jen P does my hair. I think she specializes in color, but is also good with cuts. I think all the stylists here are very good. Everyone I see that walks in walks out with great hair when they leave. :) Sometimes they run behind on appointments but I guess when the place is so busy that is to be expected.

I came to 6 Salon after a friend (who is a stylist) recommended it along with Stephanie. I've been twice now; once for a cut and once for color. Both times Stephanie was sweet, super-talkative and gave me a great cut/color; she even ran out (in the rain) and filled my parking meter for me. How nice is that?! I'm so glad that I've found a new salon in Michigan!

My haircut wasn't entirely tragic, but it wasn't good for the price. I am very particular about my hair so I should put this out there. Also my hair is not necessarily the easiest to work with either. I told the stylist that I had lost some hair after my pregnancy and would like to have bangs or some kind of style to adjust to this loss. I left with what looked like a more prominent forehead since the hair loss was around the front. He blow dried and styled the hair back. I know I don't want to look like Donald Trump but the price it just was not worth it. I am not sure I would go back either. The service in the salon was not friendly or welcoming. The stylist was very nice but their was some kind of event for a bridal party going on and I felt like a second thought there.

Went here for the first time based on all the reviews I read here. I was fortunate enough to get a last minute appointment with Johnny. He did an AMAZING job with my hair! I was scheduled for just color but he was kind enough to squeeze in a cut too! He was helpful with suggestions and all the staff members were really nice. Made me feel comfortable. They even gave me a glass of wine!!!! Service was great, skills are great, I will definitely be going back for more. The ONLY reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because the girl putting color in my hair got a lot of it on my face / cheeks (lol), and the color came out slightly darker than I hoped for. But I still liked it a lot! I already made my second appointment to go back and make my hair even lighter. I think it's a plus that their open til 10PM on Thursdays... A girl like me who works 9 to 5 with overtime can really appreciate that!
