Great fast cut, very reasonably priced. My 14-year old son who is super picky actually loved his cut and you get a shampoo wash at the end. Stylist was this African lady with a longish Kenyan sounding name and she was awesome!
I found my new barber/hair salon and Esther as my stylist. I have been looking for a new place in south loop or Hyde park and researched several places. Decided to give 57th a shot. It was easy phone call to make a reservation for the next day, Esther was super nice and truly showed her experience and skills cutting my hair. She was fast and able to cut my hair to blend my hairline and my annoying cowlick. Really enjoyed my experience and definitely coming back and will be bringing my son as well.

The Best Haircut in Hyde Park When you walk into 57th Beauty Salon it's like walking back in time to the 70s. I don't think they've renovated the place since then and I don't think they ever should. My favorite things about 57th Street Beauty Salon are Esther's kindness, the fish tank, and the drowsy chic atmosphere. For a haircut, i'm always in and out of there in 30 minutes or less.
My long time friend/stylist moved during Covid, and I've been wandering without a hair home for far too long. While I loved my friend, seeing her, and her magical way with my hair, I hated driving to Oak Street, fighting parking, and always being late. Today was that day when I just couldn't wait and wander any longer, so I looked up a local spot and found Esther through many positive reviews. I'm so glad that I did. She was timely, thoughtful, friendly, and did a magnificent job with my less than perfect description of my wishes for my very fine hair. Scheduling, parking, and paying were easy. I sent an email through their site with my preferred date/time and preferred stylist. I received a response from the owner, Olu, within minutes and secured an appointment on the same day! Payment via card, Zelle, or Venmo is accepted, and likewise for tips. I've found my new hair home. Thank you, Olu and Esther, for a great experience!
