Loved my first experience with Marsha. I got partial highlights and love the way they look. Very natural and blends nicely with my natural colors. I was grateful that Marsha took the time she needed to finish the job well done. No rushing to get to the next customer, which made me feel like a valued customer. It was a great value and plus - I learned a lot about the business they've created! Thank you for your excellent service. Will be back again.

The best salon I've been to in terms of giving me exactly what I want and then exceeding my expectations. Pat must know some kind of magic because she always manages to give my flat, lifeless hair an amazing cut and color that makes me feel beautiful, and my best self. She is professional, kind, intelligent, and so very easy to talk with. I highly recommend this salon and have been a returning customer for many years. Never disappointed.

I love this salon!! I honestly think to do a proper color, you do have to be part chemist, be a good listener and have a vast knowledge of different types of hair - all of which I have found in Marsha at Zipa Foil salon. I love the different depths of color she can achieve and to do it quickly and efficiently. I had read the Yelp reviews on this place and had questioned her on the only one that was not so flattering. Without saying anything negative about this person who wrote it, she had asked if she could show me some pictures that were taken of the womans hair that had written the review. First off, I think the color came out absolutely amazing - the different shades of blonde looked like a very natural, beautiful sun kissed look. And by no means was the cape she had on dirty - I looked closely at her cape in the pictures and looked at my own cape and thought everything was perfectly clean and professional in this establishment. The owner has over 30 years experience in this field and is consistently teaching classes to educate aspiring hairstylists which is something else I find important (and do not find in too many hairstylists). Extremely disappointing and painful! The owner, who worked on my hair, was an hour late! Wish she called me, so I didn't have to wait in an unfinished dirty salon for an hour. Once she did start to work on me, I wish she hadn't. I just wanted my gray roots, colored. When I finally left the salon, 4 hours later, I came home with gray roots, and scalp burns! I had to wipe off the chair, hair from all day was all over it. Dirty cape was put on me. The dye which was put on my hair, and left there for over an hour while she did someone else, made my hair orange and BURNED my scalp so bad I had scabby , painful blisters! I will never go back!

This is like the speakeasy of hair salons. No sign and in a super cool old building. In fact the actual building/structure is the longest standing place of business in America (yep, you read that right. in. all. of. america.) I'm in Beverly, Mass for the weekend and I desperately needed my hair dyed. I had a botched color job that was supposed to be an ombre but just looked like the bottom 3 inches of my hair was dead and needed to be chopped off. No good all around. So I asked my lovely host if she knew of a salon, and we walked down the street and into a salon you would never know was there and I was introduced to Marsha who so kindly offered to come in early the next day and dye my hair. Early the next morning I stumbled into the amazing light filled, unpretentious, beautiful historic salon in my finest of all clothes (sweats), was greeted by Marsha the loveliest salon owner of all time, sat in the chair and we chatted about my hair color. She took a lot of time with me discussing hair color and processing, then left me reading a magazine and drinking tea while she went to mix up the color. She painted my head with hair color and a while later, washed it out with great smelling shampoo, dried it and the results were AMAZING. It was like i was a new person with a new head of hair. I nearly cried from happiness. Overall, I just felt unbelievably comfortable and cared for and in the best of hands at ZipA Foil Salon. By the way, its called that because Marsha has invented a new kind of hair foil. I got one color all over my head, so I didn't get to try it. Oh and one more great thing - she gave me my color formula. I travel a lot and always find myself in a new salon every few weeks to color my hair, and usually I find that colorists never want to share their formula. Without having to twist her arm, Marsha wrote it down for me and told me that if I or any other colorists have any questions to please call her. Above and beyond. The prices were very reasonable. You can pay by credit card, but if you want to tip on your card, you have to tell them first (they politely do not ask) before they run the charge. Lastly, I kind of feel that when I left the salon that my hair was fuller and longer and graced with something special that I couldn't put my finger on. I think my beautiful, rich color job just restored some confidence. Now if I could only justify the drive from Philadelphia to Beverly every few weeks to get my hair done.
