Le Vernis Nail Studio in Beverly, MA

So last time I came here I had Kaitlyn and she was AMAZING. I was raving about this place! Until I came back. Unfortunately kaitlyn wasn't working so I had to book with someone else. I booked gel with gel removal. My nails were strong and I've been getting gel a long time, usually it's just a tinfoil wrap to take it off. Well she decided to start shaving the gel off my nails with the ELECTRIC FILE used for fake nails. I politely asked her to wrap them so my nails didn't break. She wrapped them for all of 1 minute and decided to sand them down with a different file. It's been ONE DAY and my nails already started snapping. I'm so pissed and she made them so week that they've snapped down to the nail bed. for $50 plus tip she destroyed my nails. She also took multiple personal phone calls (not even important ones she was literally chatting with a friend on the phone TWO DIFFERENT TIMES) while doing my nails and even left to finish her call. the whole salon could hear her laughing out back. SHE COULD HAVE WRAPPED MY NAILS THEN WENT TO CHAT BUT NO!!! gah. This was awful to say the least.

Got a regular pedicure. It was fine, but I've had much better for less. It was as basic as basic could be. It also seemed very rushed although I went in the middle of the day when it was fairly empty. It seems to be clean and has a nice vibe. They do have massage chairs, but I found them extremely uncomfortable (weird back curvature). Then, went out front to the dryers where there is a small round wooden stool to sit on--again, very uncomfortable and I could not wait to get out of there. The fact that they had both doors propped open for a table of food for their New Year celebration did not help as it's very cold out (and in there as well!) the basic pedicure was advertised as $38, but when I went to pay, I was charged an extra fee for using one of their salon gift cards. I questioned the owner (or the guy who seemed to be the owner) as this just does not seem right. He told me any payment aside from cash has an upcharge. So, they lost me there. I will not be purchasing any of their gift cards in the future, and doubtful I would go back.

They did a really good job on my nail art but it chipped the next day for both me and my friend. And the price was not worth that quality. Mine were $77 and my friends were $87 with out tip. I paid $77 for my nails to chip the next day.

Two of my acrylic nails fell off not even a week after I got them done and my nail became infected a few days after my appointment.

I had two fingers become infected after a manicure here. The owner (who did the mani) denied any wrong doing. He actually told me I must have done something to myself at home. When I asked him "WHY" would I ever do this to myself, he had no answer. A good business person would apologize and offer a complimentary manicure. He did not. Basically, inferred I was a liar. Bad move. Really bad! Do NOT go here.
