Z Studio: The Art of Hair in Tulsa, OK

If you are a male, I can not in good conscience recommend Z Studios. I have been getting my haircut here for years with dismal results. The reason I kept coming here was that occasionally, I would get a very good haircut. However, that would be rare. The ratio to said good haircut and the frequent bad haircuts would be roughly 1:3 and I should've just bitten the bullet and found a new hair salon.  I will send photos of the haircuts that I have received here to anyone that requests them. They offer complimentary cuts to fix any unsatisfactory haircuts; however it is hard to fix a male haircut as it is already short to begin with, so this is of no benefit. I would ask for the sides to be cleaned up with a blend and have ended up with, what is essentially a scissor cut bowl-cut, on two different occasions from two different stylists at Z studios. My most recent and final haircut from Z studio is bad enough for me to warrant buzzing my entire head. I'd much rather have it buzzed and regrow it to go to another establishment than to keep the haircut given to me. Males, I strongly recommend finding another place to cut your hair.

I have been to a few different stylists at Z Studio, and while they have been fine, my favorite by far is Denisse. She listens carefully to what you're looking for and really ensures you are happy with the results each step of the way.

I was referred to the South location for a spiral perm. They insisted I come in for a consultation prior to getting my hair permed. I did this and we discussed what rods to use. I even brought a picture of my hair permed in a curly I had years ago. I went the day of appointment. She did not use the rods we discussed and when I asked her about it she just sang to herself as if she was somewhere else. She put a regular body perm rod in my hair and I told her it was not going to curl my hair but only give me a body perm.  She just kept on singing. She never checked the curl pattern on my hair when she announced she was going to rinse the hair. I spent alot of my money for this gal to just ignore my concern and I left extremely puzzled. The manager at the Brookside store referred me. She was a kook and I wasted my time and money. Do not go to Pam, there is something not right.

I love this place!!!! I've been 4 different times and had 2 or 3 different stylists and they have all been super attentive to what I want to do with my hair, not to mention they are all super sweet! Also cost friendly. This place is amazing! 100% recommend.

Stopped going here because they are too pricey & never did what I asked for. Also tired of "students" doing my hair instead of the professional I'm paying for.
