Carlos did not cut much hair at all and certainly did not do the face frame for which he was asked (just one clumsy, horizontal layer in the front.) He refused to honor the Groupon despite the fact that the previous Groupon was for a completely different salon and from several years ago. He was told about the Groupon when the appointment was made but said nothing until we drove across town, paid to park in an iffy downtown neighborhood, and were seated in the salon.
He did not wear a mask despite the mask mandate and when asked about it he seemed to think it was OK to go unmasked since he had been vaccinated, even though he coughed throughout the service and didn't seem to understand the science which tells us that even vaccinated people can contract and pass on COVID.
The curling iron "style" amounted to several huge, ridiculous banana curls that looked like something out of "Little House on the Prairie" and he sprayed enough hairspray on her to make the B52s jealous -- she was sticky down to her shoulders and needed to wash her hair right after the appointment, and once the gross goop was out of her hair, it looked like absolutely nothing had been done to it, which is understandable, since virtually nothing had been done to it.
Their response? Too bad, so sad. I can't believe anyone would track down to downtown for such poor service and such terrible customer service. Won't make that mistake again!
I cannot tell you how amazing Carlos is...He took time to explain to my teenager and me what he was doing and why. (He was re-dying my daughter's hair whose hair had been "professionally" dyed by someone else, but had taken shortcuts that resulted in her hair fading quickly into a lovely shade of green {insert sarcasm here}) It's been a week and her hair is just as beautiful as the day we left the salon. Carlos is not only a talented artist, he is obviously knowledgeable and has an AH-MAZING personality. Thank you, Carlos, for fixing my daughter's hair and boosting her self-confidence. Today is the wedding in which she is a bridesmaid. We will be sure to share exactly how beautiful her hair turned out.
