Vottero Paris Hair Salon and Spa in Kansas City, MO

Highly recommend Vottero to anyone looking for a new place to get their haircut! They are very professional and know what they're doing here. Nice owner and beautiful atmosphere. I've never got such a good haircut before!!

This place is absolutely worth a visit! What service--You feel as though you have stepped into a charming saloon in Paris! I had a lovely head, neck, and hand massage while I was being shampooed and I kind of forgot I was there for a haircut. It was a lovely experience. I highly recommend!

This place is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Awesome space and atmosphere, scalp massage, auto chair massage during the hair massage, and I've gotten 2 great haircuts from Thomas that grow out really well. I'll keep coming back. Waldo should be proud of this place!

This place and the stylists are amazing.....I was looking for someone who could provide inspiration, work with my hair and face structure and create a hairstyle that was easy to manage. Check, check and check.  The environment is lovely - really a classy place that is not cheap but is an excellent value!  Highly recommend!

I hate having to write this review, because the salon and the people who work there are quite lovely. Unfortunately, the lovely atmosphere and people did not translate to a lovely experience. I have been in search of a new colorist for the past year, and made an appointment at Vottero Paris based on the reviews here, its close proximity to where I live, and their last minute availability. I went in on a Saturday at 11:00am for partial highlights and left six hours later (at 5:12pm to be exact) with half of my head unevenly bleached (brassy orange/yellow roots) and a prominent bleach burn across my forehead. A week later, I am still trying to figure out how everything went so horribly wrong.

I went into Vottero Paris armed with dozens of photos showing my hair with partial highlights courtesy my old stylist. Referencing the photos, I explained that I wanted a fine weave of ash blonde highlights; something my old stylist and countless other stylists over the years have had little trouble achieving on my hair. Thomas looked at the photos and asked if I wanted all over color. I explained that I did not want the maintenance of all over color and again reiterated that I preferred a partial highlight. Thomas looked at the photos again and then consulted with the other stylist, Philip. Without any further discussion with me, Thomas went to work applying the bleach to my hair between layers of cellophane. As soon as he began the application, I became nervous. As Thomas painted on the bleach, it did not feel like he was weaving in the color; rather, it felt like all over color divided by large sheets of cellophane. I decided not to say anything, as I am far from a color expert and assumed this was a technique with which I was unfamiliar (until now, I had only ever had foil highlights). While my color processed (the first time), Thomas offered friendly conversation.

Around 2:00pm, Thomas began the rinsing process, which involved a lovely head massage, deep conditioning, and a massage chair. I felt wonderfully relaxed. That relaxed feeling was short lived. As soon as I caught my reflection, I was horrified. The whole top of my head was bleached to a brassy orange-yellow. No highlights. No ash blonde. It was exactly the opposite of what I asked for. I immediately expressed my concern, and Thomas said it would look better once he dried it. As I expected, drying my hair did not improve the situation. At this point, Philip came over and explained that I needed another application of bleach. I was obviously unhappy, because even if another application of bleach improved the color, I would be leaving looking like an acorn, with all over color on half of my head rather than the partial highlights I had requested. But I was stuck. I certainly couldn't leave with it in that state, so I agreed to another application of bleach.

The rest of the story is basically more bleach, more rinsing, more brassy tones, and a bleach burn to round the whole thing out. On the last bleach application, Philip took over. He did not even bother with the cellophane "highlights" this time, and painted the bleach all over the top of my head. Throughout this six-hour ordeal, Thomas and Phillip were very nice, offering me food and champagne. If kindness could color hair, I would have left a happy customer. Sadly, I have never been more disappointed with a hair service in all my life. Not only did they do all over color on half my head when I requested partial highlights, the all over color wasn't even well executed. It was brassy and orange at the roots, and an unfortunate shade of yellow with bits of white at the tips. I am pretty sure I could have achieved such an amateurish outcome on my own with no mirror and a bottle of peroxide. I was so drained after six hours of frustration, I paid just to get away from the salon. I am currently in the process of correcting this mess, which will be difficult given that my hair has been bleached within an inch of its life. I truly wish I could give these guys a good review, but my hair has never looked worse.
