Volpe Salon & Day Spa in Cicero, NY

I came with A Groupon for microdermabrasion and signature facial a few days ago. While the esthetician was friendly, I will not return for another service. We walked upstairs and entered the facial room. I was told to lay down on the table and the esthetician went to work without shutting the door, so I could hear all the noises of the Salon below including blow dryers and laughter. It was not he calming and relaxing atmosphere I hoped for. As I laid there, she proceeded to tell me how horribly dry my skin was and questioned the products I was using and attempting to sell me the professional line the salon uses, stating it had no fillers and can only be purchased from a licensed esthetician. I appreciate the detailed analysis and information, this is the purpose of the initial consultation and did not appreciate that it carried through my entire hour long facial. While I am happy with her friendly demeanor and how my skin was treated and looked, I really just wanted what everyone wants from a facial....total relaxation. She talked THE WHOLE TIME. I just wanted to lay there and relax and was unable to do so. I left feeling as stressed as I did when I walked in.

I bought a groupon for a microdermabrasion and a signature facial. I scheduled an appointment and went in. The woman at the desk redeemed my groupon and told me the aesthetician would be down in a bit. At the appointment she kept telling me my skin was dry and about these products only she could provide me with because she was licensed. She asked me if I wanted to get some extractions done as well and that it would cost an extra $10. I agreed. She turned on the steam and wasted at least twenty minutes doing this. And was on her phone the entire time doing errands. The facial and microdermabrasion would've taken at least an hour but she scheduled another appointment right after mine. Then she said my skin was too dry and that it would be better for me not to get the microdermabrasion done. So I said for her to do what she thought was best for my skin. After the extractions she rushed and put a bunch of oils on my skin and said her next client was in. She charged me $10 and I bought a moisturizer and left her a tip. When I got home I realized that they redeemed my groupon however I didn't get any of those procedures done. So I called the next day and asked to speak with her in order to ask if my skin was ready and if I could get the microdermabrasion and the signature facial since I already paid for it. She never called back. I even got her personal cell number and she still never called back. This was unprofessional and I will not be returning. I spent $50 on a groupon and didn't even get what I bought but they still marked it redeemed.

I bought a Groupon for a facial. I had never had a facial before and this was a bad experience. They called me often before my appt to either confirm my appt or ask me to change me appt time. The day of I was able to come earlier so I called to see if they wanted me to come earlier since they had previously asked if I could. Apparently it was the esthetician's manager I spoke with because when I checked in the esthetician was very rude and asked me why I called back and spoke with her manager. This made me uncomfortable since she clearly had an issue with this. She then took me upstairs, didn't close the door or try to relax me and just basically started telling me all the things I needed to change, my shampoo/cond, my make up, stop eating dairy, it was a long list. She then proceeded to pick at my face for 45 minutes making comments about how big some of the extractions were. She didn't use gloves or anything, just bare hands and nails. I told her I was interested in a new skin care line and she definitely started to product push a line only she could provide me. She said it was only available through a licensed esthetician which was inconvenient since I def wasn't planning on returning. Last thing I'll mention is that she was taking longer than expected and made me aware of how late she was running but kept picking at my face. The door was open the whole time and people were walking by and seeing this! My skin freaked out after this and I assume it was from the bacteria on her hands and all of the extracting she was doing. Needless to say I found a better, more relaxing place to go and love facials now!

If I could give negative or zero stars, I would. I bought the Groupon deal for Volpe's spray tanning. I've worked in salons for many years, so I knew generally how it's done but I still had questions. I called the salon to schedule my appointment and ask what the procedure and aftercare were. I was given no information about aftercare and made my appointment. I showed up fifteen minutes before said appointment, filled out a form and was instructed to step into a closet sized room and strip. Then the tanning technician got into the room with me and proceeded to spray me. I had to show her spots that were dry because she missed them completely. Then she left me in the room in front of an oscillating fan to dry for fifteen minutes. I could already see streaks. When I questioned her, she became defensive and told me that it gets darker overnight and when I showered the next day, the bronzer would wash off but the tan would remain. Once I was redressed and at the front desk, she was very verbal about her annoyance with my Groupon, handed me an aftercare sheet and grunted "Have a nice day" at me while walking to another part of the salon. Now 24 hours later, I'm tiger striped, about to get on a flight across the country and hoping that when I land, I can find a spray tanning salon that can fix my tan. TL;DR Rude and unprofessional salon. Incompetent spray tan technician. SUPER CRAPPY SPRAY TAN RESULTS.

Got my nails done here using the Groupon deal that ran from a while ago for a bachelorette party that I went to in the area (perfect timing). The paraffin treatment might have been my favorite part of the pedicure :) It was awesome! I'll definitely go back when I'm back in town again
