VIP Nails in Cranston, RI

I hadn't gotten my nails done in a really long time so I was excited.  This place was near my house and didn't look expensive so I took a chance.   Wish I hadn't.  I picked a really pretty blue but I guess the bottle was almost empty so they mixed acetone into it.... Needless to say the polish took forever to dry because it needed like 4 coats.  They didn't use any base on my nails so the polish chipped the next day

I stopped by today in hopes of trying this place. I was greeted by a cute black dog. The man who greeted me was very nice but the salon had a foul order. The place looked smokey inside and was not very clean. I was kind of bummed because I live close by and they do have great prices. If things change in the future I may revisit.

Wasn't very impressed. I came in to get a regular manicure and I had previously had my nails dipped so I had to soak them to remove the dip. After soaking them for about ten minutes or more they were still pretty gooey and the woman only went over them once with the sander and hardly buffed them at all which left the surface very bumpy. I expected her to go back to do more after she clipped them shorter but she didn't and just started painting them. It all felt very rushed and not relaxing at all and was charged ten extra to remove the dip and it was only partially removed. After leaving and looking more closely I saw some were cut lopsided and the edges of my nails are sharp and not smoothed out with the buffer so I had to file myself because I have a newborn. Do not think I will be returning.

I've been coming here for the last year. Since I'm very picky with my nails at first the lady and I would go back and forth since I was watching her every move. I have a hard time find a nail technician that knows how to shape my nails the correct way. Once she was done with my nails the hour of her being kinda snippy actually paid off. The more I went in there the Better our client relationship got. She welcomes my son into her shop and my son just loves dumpling the dog. The dog does bark at everyone that enters looking for a nice rub and some attention. I've transitioned from acrylic to gel nails square to oval to almond shape. She knows how to do them all. Now I get the gel manicures which she also does a good job. I also get pedicures there when the time allows is because the 2 services together take a while. I always call in advance and ask to come in. I've walked in and had to wait but the wait has been worth it. Yes there is a Buddha shrine and yes they do bicker back and forth. She bosses him around but it is very comical. Once you go there regularly they treat you really well. The older man is always very sweet and funny. The two combo is a recipe for laughter.

Interesting couple run this place, they seem to bicker in their native tongue which is sort of annoying but also comical. They have a cute lil dog that barks at everyone that walks in, sort of eliminates any sense of relaxation. They have a buddhist shrine at the front that normally has offerings like fruit or I've even seen a bowl of fruit loops there... Normally it's buzzing w fruit flies.

I go here because it is close and I find it kinda entertaining in a weird way, but I've never seen more than the couple working so you can expect a wait and if you end up working w the guy, then you're in luck.
