VIP Dominican Beauty Salon in Charlotte, NC

I am a long time customer of VIP Harrisburg. Maria is my stylist, and she does a great job with my hair every time. I work long hours and it is crucial that I get in and out timely. I book my appointments every two weeks and on special occasions. I understand they take walk-ins, but when I have an appointment, I expect to be in the chair within 15 minutes of my appointment time. I had an appointment last week at 10-11 am (2nd appointment of the day) got there at 9:42 signed in and noticed there are 2 others there for Maria. Mind you they take the 1st appointment at 9. I was in and out of the shampoo room by 10 and when I came out the second person was sitting in her chair. I was instructed to sit on the sofa with wet hair as she was blow drying her client. 10:20 rolled around and she started trimming the client. My frustrations grew as I had to be at work at 11:30 and knowing I wouldn't be on time for work if I'd stayed. I kindly removed the towel from my wet hair went to let them know I had to leave and to pay for the wash. The receptionist stated there was not a charge and not ONE time ONE did Maria apologize. Moral of the story is, if you take appointments, please be considerate of people's time because appointments are made for various reasons and our time also matter! I have had enough of this treatment, and I am in the process of finding a salon that will honor my appointments.

First Mayi is THE BEAT STYLIST EVER!!!!! She is wonderful with my hair and if it were not for her I would have walked out without paying a dime for my hair because of the LOUSY customer service of the salon. I promise if I had cash on me I would have paid her the tip in cash and walked out. I had a major event and made an appointment. I specifically checked about having her do my hair. The front receptionist told me that the only way she could see me was if I came in with my hair pre washed. I asked about cost and was told that the price would be reduced because I had to wash my own hair. I did and left work early to get to my appointment (the receptionist asked me to try to be there early as Mayi had to leave). When I got there the receptionist tried to get me to go to another stylist but I was not taking a chance as I was a keynote speaker at an out of town event in front of thousands.  I waited about 20 min but Mayi accommodated me in the end. My hair came out nice but when I went to pay they said I had to pay the full price WHICH WAS NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE AFTER ASKING ABOUT PRICE. The fact that they do not honor their own pricing policy is not acceptable. Again I can not emphasize enough how great Mayi is, professional, sweet and my hair always looks great but why on earth would I be charged full price when I did the work and used my own product? That makes no sense and is a major disappointment. I will not recommend anyone coming here without getting the price in writing. I read the same from other reviews about bait and switch but I have been coming here for years and could not believe that's how they would treat anyone let alone a loyal customer. Disgusted that there is no integrity here. Why lie?  I made my appointment a week in advance. Shameful

Asked for a Balayage... I didn't even leave with decent highlights!!! Even after I kept saying why are you using so much foil highlighting me, they charged me for balayage - again, not even half decent highlights. I walked out never to return !! Save your money and keep going.

I hope this email finds you healthy wealthy and wise! I visted your Charlotte location on 2/4/2022. On the website I booked a 5pm appt. Somehow I received a phone call about 2pm asking if I could come in earlier. I arrived at the location at about 4:40 pm. After a little wait I was washed and laced under the dryer as I had came with my deep conditioner. I was asked who was I here to see. Since it was my first time I said anyone. I was placed in the chair and the stylist asked if I wanted curly or straight? To my surprise I was expecting to be rolled them lightly blown out! I was told AFTER my hair was wet that it was TOO late to roll me. Wait what? At no point making the appointment nor when I came in was I advised of this. My hair came out so bad I placed a hat on and left after paying $40 for something I was expecting. I was burned in my scalp twice and on my ear.  I had to call another salon to go and get my hair properly done and they can't see me until Sunday.

I neglected to advise that a second lady came over and began flat ironing my hair to speed along the process because they were ready to leave. I walked out of the salon at 5:59pm also the cashier was in such a rush that she pulled up the tablet and prevented me leaving a tip while I was typing in the amount.(the tip was for the shampoo lady)

I came here because I am new to the area and the reviews were actually good! I will never come back here and I will be leaving my review also on your Google review and on my highly viewed YouTube channel. I am saddened by the rushed horrible job I received!

Extremely Unhappy Client

This was my second time visiting my hair had been in braids for months so it was very thick so the lady who did my blow out really strained to straighten my hair I kept jumping because the heat from the flat iron was so close she stated she was getting it straight it looked nice when I left when I came the second time the same lady did my blowout still the same burn from the heat of the flat iron she told me the same thing it was to get it straight the difference was the next morning I had burns on my face and scalp and everyone said my hair was very thin she had fried my hair I won't be returning
