Versailles Hair Salon in San Francisco, CA

For many years I have been buying hair products at the Versailles salon. AfterI reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to try one of John's haircuts. I am very sorry that I did. The hair cut is a disaster. I held a comb at the back of my neck to show John the length to which I wanted my blunt hair cut. I have straight hair and this works best. It is what arrived with, and just needed trimming. When finished, my hair should have been 2 inches at the back of my neck. Instead, it is a half inch. John was very polite, but didn't understand at all what I said, what I wanted. It will take a over a year to gow my hair out from this terrible hair cut.

been there 3 times: 1. HAD Shirley; sweet lady and very conservated in cut and style, like Super Cuts but a little better. trims are her thing and she said that too. 2. Shirley left, had John , he did a good job with the style and cut nothing to shout about or complain but worth the $35 with wash and tip. $20 up for hair cut plus $5 for wash. 3. Third time is NOT the charm ! John seem rushed even thougt I had an appointment , he was working on someone's hair so I had to wait , when its my turn, men were coming in to ask for haircuts. He should stop telling them 15mins wait when he just started my hair, He's not fooling any of those drop in customer with time. I trusted him but he lacked focus this time. He kept looking at the hair picture so much that he didnt look at my hair while cutting, it came out too short and layered. He knew it , but covered his track by saying it will look just like it in 2 months. Yeah right, maybe I'll pay you in 2 months time hows that!! Between looking a the picture, the clock, and the doorway , its no wonder he couldn't get it right. I still give it 3 stars because he's capable if a good cut if he's got the time to do it. but its too risky . He makes better money with 15 min men's trims then a hour for women's cut.

My mom has been getting her hurr done here since i was five so lets seee she has been going to elaine for hmm about twenty five years. damn im old. See my mother and I have different styles in everything. she is more conservative and i am way more out there. I never thought i would actually get my hair did here because i tend to opt for more trendier salons. But one day I decided to get a perm here cause i was in love with sarah jessica parkers wavy poofy hair ( u know curly hair dont care). And the result was very pleasing. Great results and great price equal a loyal customer. I have been coming here since to get my hair permed twice a year because we all know flat hair is a no no. i always get compliments regarding my permed hair so yall should definitely come here.

I had my hair cut by Shirley. She was very friendly and did a very professional graduated bob cut. Very affordable.

I was caught deciding where to go to get my hair cut before going to Tahoe for the weekend and realized the best time was to do it during my lunch hour. I usually go home to Cherie's in San Leandro, but with time constraints and the week being super busy, I decided to "cut all ties" (wamp wamp) at the moment from my usual place and entrusted yelp to find the best place closest to my work. Well, Yelp did it again! The first time I called, I talked to Elaine and I had mentioned to come in either 12 or 1, which ever is the best time for them, and she said "Why don't we make it 12:30?" and chuckled. Already I liked her and had a good feeling about it. How ever, I've had that feeling about a few before, so I decided to not expect anything even if that call was a sure sign of a friendly encounter. So I got there and when I walked in there was a guy at the counter, Victor, who was super nice and helped me put my coat and things away. He was off the bat super hospitable and attentive to what I wanted to do. We had a great conversation and he was very humble and gave advice on styling my hair myself (cause lord knows I can't style my hair let a alone brush it lol). Shampoo, haircut, and style altogether was $25! I met Elaine and John at the end, and next time I'll have to try them both hearing from what other yelpers are saying about them. They were all super friendly and wished me well on my trip to Tahoe. For once I didn't feel so out of place in a salon. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Especially if time is short and you need to get your hair done before you head out to party after work lol. If you're picky and anal about how you want your hair to be done, get John to do it. He was styling a lady's hair next to me and by the time she was done she looked fab. And I went to Tahoe looking forward to take pictures!
