Venetian Nail Spa in West Des Moines, IA

Super disappointed with my experience tonight. Went with a friend to get dip. One of the older ladies in this salon did them. I picked out a teal/baby blue color and showed her two different times which color I wanted. While she was dipping my fingers in the powder I noticed they were not taking on a blue color at all, but more of a white/silver. I asked her why they were not blue and she insisted that it was and once she put the top coat on the color would pop. I asked why they were this color and if it could be fixed and she said it was too late. My friend came over and pointed out which color it should have been right in front of her and the lady never even acknowledged the fact she did the wrong color even after both my friend and I told her about it. She cut my cuticle open 3 different times to the point they were bleeding then proceeded to charge me full price despite all these things. Never made an effort to fix them, apologize, or even discount me for this mistake. I later had to go home and buy nail polish at the store and paint over them. I have been here before and was pleased but this time I am beyond upset about the lack of service and just plain carelessness!!

I had a very pleasant experience with my walk in. The lady asked what I wanted and I asked what time they closed because I didn't want to keep them late for my acrylic set. I had enough time to get them done for $60. The lady was a bit younger who did my nails but she was super accommodating when I couldn't find the color I liked and warned me about how ombré costs extra. My nails have stayed on for a good three weeks now and I was thinking about going back for a filler.

I walked in and they told me it would be a couple minute wait. I waited for over an hour and they were helping others that walked in after me. After saying that I had been waiting there for an hour they made me wait another 15 minutes. I finally sat down and she made my cuticles start to bleed which has never happened before

Went in to get acrylics. Told the lady I didn't want super long nails but was told that was not possible. She didn't listen to me and I was left with unsatisfactory nails. I had to come back the next day to get them fixed, which they did eventually fix for free but with a super bad attitude. The nails held up super well for two weeks until I broke one. I wanted to keep them on longer so I went on to get that one fixed, as well as a fill in. $23 for both, not unreasonable. But I was rushed in and out, and they were filled in and painted sloppily. The next day (the day this was posted), ANOTHER BROKEN NAIL.

Another time, came in wanting nails from prom. I do bite my nails but they were long enough for acrylics, I knew that for sure. THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS CALLED OVER TO GAWK AT MY SHORT NAILS, until I finally spoke up and told them to stop.

Would not recommend to anyone, AT ALL.

I didn't want to believe the other reviews but they were all right!  They upped their prices after they assured my son-in-law what was covered (even circled it on their list of services) with the gift cards he purchased.  Then we'll within a couple days our nail polish was flaking and peeling off.  Don't waste your money here leave for the kiddo's they cater to.  I wanted to leave zero stars but yelp believes everyone deserves at least one star!
