I went to this salon to get a weave. The owner and I had a great conversation while she was doing my hair and I thought we had established a connection. Told her that she was going to be my stylist for the duration of my time in Scranton area. I moved here a year ago and have to drive 30 miles just to get braids. So when it was near time to get my hair redone, I called. I texted. I called some more and texted numerous times to get no response. I finally got her on the phone 2 weeks after the first call. At that time she asked that I text my information the date desired and style I wanted to the number I just called only to get no response for 3 days. I will not beg anyone for service. By the time she even texted back my hair was already done by someone else. Inconsistency is not a way to run a business. It is however a way to run out of business. I don't care that you were on Oprah Winfrey show, you cannot treat people like they need you when there are so many more stylists out here trying to make a name for themselves. I don't recommend this place. My experience may be different from yours but this is my experience.
I booked a retwist for my son, the appointment was 10am & the stylist Teniequa was 15 minutes late. She did not give a courtesy call to inform me she was running behind. I dropped my son off and she styled his hair adding an additional service without confirming with me first although I had been texting her. Very poor communication on her part and clearly doesn't value her paying customers.
My hair looks amazing. The shop is cute and the owner Koni is so nice. Good music playing great conversation and I love my hair. You have to bring your own hair but the prices are reasonable for such professional work.
This is the only salon that specializes in African-American hair in Scranton. I was told about this place through a friend from school, so I decided to check it out. They have an online scheduling platform that allows you to book, and a complete list of services. It even emails and texts you as a reminder. However, I will say that appointments tend to be taken up for weeks on end. I had my hair done here several times, and usually I have to book an appointment 2+ weeks in advance! It's not their fault; I guess it's really popular. The owner (Koni) and the other stylist, Teni, are extremely nice and supportive, and they truly love what they do. The prices are extremely reasonable, and I was always satisfied with the results.
