Nightmare!!! My beautiful long, healthy hair was DESTROYED 4 days before my daughter's wedding! My once long(butt length) thick, healthy, beautiful hair was RUINED 4 days before my daughter's wedding in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida! My daughter had to sadly change all the hairstyles of her Bridal Party (9 in total) and me....Mother of the Bride. I heard somewhat good things, read some nice reviews about Lavish and decided sure why not and booked to appointment one for my nails/gel pedi with Carol and the other for my hair with Jackie. Nails/pedi came out okay. On October 30, 2023 I walked into Lavish with high and happy spirits, as I always am in. From having a lengthy consultation with speaking Jackie, she lead me to believe my hair was in great hands/care, giving over to her my full trust. WRONG MOVE! First-- My hair was destroyed: over processed on EVERY level possible. Second-- I was told with full confidence I'd get the chocolate color highlights I asked for, I ended up getting copper color midway down then mixed colors at the ends. Nor was it a Balayage that she professionally recommended would be best for me/my hair. Third-- The cut was not was she lead me to envision: face framing with long layers throughout that would flow so beautifully that I can run my fingers through it. SO NOT THE CASE! I got a botched blunt curtain bangs whereas it looks like I have a mullet just about. Hair dye was still rinsing out of my hair six days after getting my hair done. My hair is now after washing left is left damaged....frizzed, DRIED, gnarly, knotted, tangled, brittle, looking like a bale of straw! I am left unhappy, disgusted, disappointed, inconvenienced and horrified. I know it's only hair and will grow back, but that is not the principal. I spoke with Kristen in Thursday Nov 9th told her of my bad experience. She seemed concerned and said she will share it with the owner. Shame on me for believing and trusting in Lavish Salon, Scranton Pennsylvania! I just want my beautiful, long, healthy hair back!
I had my hair done by Alexis Rink and I told her what I wanted. She knew right away and I love how my hair turned out.
This is the place to go for it all- they have the best staff with up to date training and incredible skill. Marina is hands down the best colorist around. Alexa has single handedly changed my skin and educated me about how to best care for it. Sarah (makeup) and Mary (hair) made me feel beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day. Don't hesitate, this is the spot!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I went to visit Kathryn to get eyelash extensions. Online it say $200. That was expensive, but I figured I was getting the best. I've had my lashes done a couple years ago so I knew what to expect. First red flag, I was only there for only 45 minutes. When she showed me my lashes it looked okay in the mirror. I wasn't sure. It didn't seem like a difference. I doubted myself and kind of felt uncomfortable. I figured I would look again when I got to my car. Anyway, I go to check out and pay. I was given a little bag with a brush and lash cleaner. I figured it came with the service since I never said I wanted that. When I get to my car, I look again and my lashes didn't look any different. My mascara made my lashes look better. I was very unhappy. Later that day, I texted Kathryn back and told her I was unhappy. The more I thought about it the more upset I became. 1. She didn't ask me what type I wanted, classic, hybrid, volume, etc. 2. I checked the price and it was $270!!!! What?!?!?! My $32 mascara looked better!! Kathryn told me to come back in and she could fix for free. When I arrived the next week, Kathryn tried to cancel and said she has a cough but not Covid and asked if I would mind. I told her no I didn't. I JUST WANTED MY LASHES FIXED! I arrive and Kathryn didn't prep me the right way. She was in a hurry. She slapped on the some some thicker extensions with no rhyme or reason. They looked thicker but strange. I felt like I looked like a camel. Then, she tells me that she only has a 1/2 hour. WHOA! I paid $270 and not you're not fixing your poor work?! She rushed me out of there. They looked TERRIBLE! I was embarrassed to walk around looking like I did; especially in my profession. Here's where she inconsistencies come. After she "fixed" them, I get to my car and I get a text saying my appointment was cancelled. I literally just got done with my appointment, it surely couldn't be cancelled after I just got done. Strange. I was soo annoyed at paying $270 and looking like crap. I decided to call the salon. I spoke with the girl at the desk. I realized many things. 1. Kathryn did an inadequate job, snuck me in to "fix" and rushed me out before the owner came in. She didn't want her to know what happened. 2. The $270 was because she MADE me buy lash cleaner and a brush I didn't ask for. They were $45!!!!!!!!!! She's literally just charged me and didn't tell me. 3. I paid $225 for botched lash extensions. 4. While getting my lashes done, Kathryn tried to feed me bull by saying I NEEDED lash serum so my own lashes would stay strong when the extensions and went on. IVE HAD THEM BEFORE! Stop feeding me lies. 5. On the second appt, she kept pressuring me to make an appointment for my daughter and making up many excuses to get MORE money out of my. It was so horrible!!!! 6. When texting Kathryn about return to fix, she was not nice. She was very cold, even when I thanked her many times. She was responding with one word responses. So rude! 7. When I called back to find out why I paid $225, the front desk woman was not helpful or sympathetic. I expressed my concerns with what happened and it fell on deaf ears. I told her to cancel ALL future appointments. (She obviously didn't we the red flags.) Then, instead of trying to fix the situation, she says, "do you want me to reschedule?" OMG! Noooooo I am staying far away as possible from Lavish and never returning. The entire experience was stressful, overpriced and frustrating! They need to adjust their pricing according to the lash artist's experience/work. I would expect more for a high-end salon. I basically wasted $290 (with tip). In conclusion, I went to another lash artist. It was the OPPOSITE of Kathryn at Lavish. They were very professional, we talked about what type I wanted, I was actually there for 2 hours, and they look beautiful! Here's the kicker...IT WAS 1/2 THE PRICE!!!!! This new place didn't tell me lies, no pressure, great job, great experience and very organized. She took pride in making me happy. I'm going back for my fill next week and my lashes still look spectacular! Many compliments! Just be aware of Kathryn at Lavish. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
My hair was perfect! Also the staff is very friendly and very helpful! They went above and beyond!!!
