Urban Rose Salon in Berkley, MI

I cut my own hair (yes, even the back) and, let's just say, I'm not a great contortionist. I contacted Urban Rose Salon for the 1st time via message off their website and Nicole responded as soon as their doors opened for business the following day! She paired me up with Jenny. It can be uncomfortable going to a new stylist; but Jenny was pleasant, attentive and fun. She did a fantastic job correcting my mish-mash DIY cut and now I'm stylin' a current look. * Pricing at Urban Rose Salon is very reasonable compared to most salons that I've visited.

Emily is so incredibly talented, professional, fun, friendly, and just an awesome stylist and colorist. So happy to have found her in Berkley! this salon!!! It is truly a gem. And Nicole always makes you feel so welcomed. Thank you ladies for such wonderful service.

I was able to get in for a last minute appointment with Emily for coloring. I got some highlights and a base bump to lighten my roots. She did a good job with the color and I'm happy with it. I felt like pricing was about normal or a little higher than I typically pay. Overall I won't return, there's too many salons to not feel 100% comfortable. Pros- - most importantly, I'm happy with the result of my coloring - cute decor in salon - parking lot behind salon was convenient - able to accommodate my last minute scheduling - was offered a beverage when I walked in (which I was thankful for since I left my coffee on my kitchen counter ‍) they also had some beer and wine, fun bonus! Cons- -2 salon employees were talking negatively about a client who no showed (which they have the right to be upset about) out in the open next to me while I was getting my hair washed. It was a turnoff and very unprofessional. -conversation with Emily was slightly awkward/strained. She asked me the same question a few times so it was clear she wasn't listening to what I was saying.

Highly recommend! They accommodated me even after I accidentally missed my first appointment, whoops! Pretty easy to get an appointment with, within the week, and their prices are very affordable. I went to Emily and she was great, fast and fun to talk to.

Emily is amazing. I've followed her from two other salons before she opened Urban Rose. Her eye for color and perfectionist approach is what sets her apart from other stylists. I'm always confident leaving the salon knowing I'll receive compliments until I return for another visit. Thanks for making me feel spectacular and part of the Urban Rose family!
