Step Up Salon in Berkley, MI

I don't go out of my way to leave negative reviews. I have to unfortunately say that Katie, who works there and put out a flyer at local businesses to advertise her spray tan services is quite a liability for this salon. I brought the coupon in that she printed up and distributed around town for 1 spray tan $20, or 2 for $30. I only wanted my legs done. The receptionist had to call me and leave a couple of voicemails saying that I would possibly have to reschedule because Katie was mia. She was not answering her phone or returning texts. But, lo and behold, Katie had lost her phone and was indeed, alive and well, so I arrived for my appointment as scheduled. When I got there, the receptionist again said that she didn't know where Katie was and that Katie wasn't answering her phone. Katie arrived, saying she had vertigo and had to have someone drive her. (I don't know why she wasn't answering her phone) My spray tan turned out poorly. Very blotchy and unsightly. I took a picture of my legs and informed the salon that I wanted my $10 refunded of the $30 because I did not want another spray tan. The receptionist was very understanding and accommodating and asked me to give Katie another chance to do a better job spray tanning: "on the house". Well, I made sure that Katie got paid for the first spray tan even though I was unhappy with it and even though the salon wanted to completely refund my entire amount AND give me a spray tan on the house. I refused to take all my money back, and I consented to giving Katie another chance. I called the manager/(owner?) and left a message explaining the whole situation. It was quite a while before I was called back to schedule an appointment. The day before the appointment, Katie texted saying she would need to reschedule since she woke up sick. I have not heard back and it has been 2 weeks. My impression is that Katie is young and unreliable. I have no idea how Step-Up is in regard to their other salon services, but Katie, their spray tan professional is a serious liability to them.
