Uptown Curl in St Paul, MN

Kailyn is amazing! My kiddos have fine curls, and since I adore their curls but am not very good with curly hair care, I pay extra to bring them here a couple of times a year to get their curls cut properly. I always walk away with great pointers to help me care for their curls at home. My kids are not easy clients. My daughter has lots of opinions about her hair and a million questions about what Kailyn is doing and how and why and what's next, while my son struggles with some challenging behaviors. Kailyn is amazing with them. Sweet and doting and p a t i e n t. Really gracious. Everyone there makes my kids feel welcome and cared for when we are there. And their hair always looks fabulous. I rarely write reviews but really can't say enough about this place.

The experience was OK - much less than what I expected for a $150 curly cut. I had an appointment with Justyne who is supposed to be the top stylist outside of the owner. I saw great reviews on her but after doing a very quick, normal haircut (she did not cut the curls individually) she rushed through a wash, quick condition, rinse and style. She seemed very rushed and distracted and had me out of there after about 40 minutes. I asked questions along the way and got quick, short answers. I've learned a LOT more about curly hair from internet research. I will not be back again. The extra star is for the very friendly and courteous receptionist and because the cut seems fine although I just got home so we'll see.

I first went into this salon, on recommendation from a curly friend, and I loved it! The cut and color were exactly what I wanted. During covid it was hard to get in so I decided to treat myself to eyelash extensions.... I am so happy that I did! Emma is an artist! I've had a fill since I first got them but the lashes were still looking so great that a friend of mine (who I hadn't seen since I got the lashes) exclaimed how beautiful they were and I was going to get a fill the next day. I highly recommend!

I drove 45 minutes for my appointment which I scheduled several weeks ago. The stylist called in sick and nobody bothered to contact me. So done with this place!

I got my hair cut here today and had the most pleasant experience. I have gotten multiple "curly" hair cuts before and this one was by far my best. Kailyn was cutting my hair and she did an excellent job and exactly what I asked for. She also was very helpful in informing me about tips for styling my hair. Out of every curly hair cut I've gotten she did the best job shaping my hair and you could tell she put a lot of effort into making it perfect for my hair type!
