For one I was never greeted and I ask someone for help she say she's on her break . And do you think anyone else ask if they can help ... Nope so they will not get my business again.

I would first like to start off with saying I have Never emailed about a service before, whether it be great or terrible but this time I just have to...
I called Saturday for an appointment for my nieces hair because she had homecoming that night. Yes, I know it was last minute but things came up. I asked for a simple updo and I mentioned on the phone several times that she is biracial and her hair is very very curly. I asked if this is a type of hair texture that she feels comfortable with doing and she assured me it is no problem at all.
I show up for the 4:00 appointment and she doesn't see us until 4:25 because she was running behind. I show her the picture we want (see attachment) and she happily said, "oh yea, that's no problem at all" as she begins to do her hair it becomes clear that she might not know what she's doing but we let her continue. She then STOPS and takes a phone call for 5-8 minutes (she was already running behind and we have a dance to continue getting ready for) she comes back and continues. After another 15 minutes she turns her around and is done.....I seriously could not believe what her hair looked like. I asked her about the twist we wanted and she tried and that failed as well. Finally, I just said, "ok that's good and thank you". She charged me the $30 and I wanted to not pay SO bad but I didn't want to make a scene with my niece there. Here are the pictures of the mess this "stylist" wanted my niece to wear at homecoming! This was her first homecoming and we got in the car and the tears starting falling! Thankfully we called her aunt and she was able to do something and she looked beautiful.
I do understand that she might not have known what to do, BUT she could have easily said, " I'm sorry but I'm not really sure what to do" she could have said anything but she didn't and she actually thought it was ok to make my niece look like this.
I am hoping and praying that another little girl does not have to deal with this. This was very embarrassing for my niece and my frustration about this matter is unbelievable.

There was no one around to assist me when I was trying to locate a few products. I literally walked in circles for quite a while. The girl who worked in the salon was very loudly chit-chatting with someone. She never once asked if I needed assistance and I'm pretty sure she saw me walking in circles. Maybe it's not part of her job to assist customers but she could have at least acknowledged me and sought help for me if she wasn't able to assist me but she didn't. She kept on talking. I had to walk to the front of the store and ask the girl in the makeup department to show me where the lighted mirrors were. I couldn't understand why I had not seen them because they were located near the salon, which was where I was previously. As I walked back there, I then realized why I didn't see them previously. There were mobile shelves covering the area that held the lighted mirrors. I had to move them out of the way to get to the mirror I wanted to see. No one assisted me at this time, either. The girl in the salon continued chatting on with someone who seemed to be someone she knew but not her customer/client. I could hear the conversation. And the shelves were loaded with hair products. Very hazardous. A customer should not have to personally move merchandise out of the way to access a product. If the Covington store had the mirror in stock, I would have left and gotten it there but it was out of stock at Covington. I have never been ignored by store associates in the Covington store.  I worked in retail for 7 years while I was a college student and this sort of thing would not have been tolerated. And I'm talking about the merchandise blocking access to an area and having an associate ignoring a customer. I am a post-graduate professional today and I didn't get this far in life by being lazy. I do not plan to visit the Hammond store again. Just completely unacceptable.

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but I felt I must let people know my experience at the Salon in Ulta.
I had an 11:00 appointment on a Saturday with a young lady. I got there a little earlier for my appointment and was told by the master stylist that she wasn't in yet. No big deal. I figured I'd look around. When 11:20 rolled around, I asked an employee on the floor if she knew if the girl was coming in since my appointment was for 11:00. The master stylist was doing someone's hair at the time. She said that she didn't know, and asked if I'd like for her to be called. I said please do. The employee informed me that she wasn't answering her phone.  After finishing up with her client, the master stylist agreed to cut it, and she charged me the usual $38 instead of $63.

The girl who was supposed to cut my hair showed up at 11:30. She said that a frog jumped on her, she fell down some stairs and laid in the grass is why she was late. Maybe true, but she could've handled it better by calling and letting someone know that she was running late.

I told the Master stylist what I wanted, which was one layer in the back and some face framing layers. As she  cut my hair, the conversation turned depressing. She didn't seem focused on my hair. She finished it rather quickly. She didn't show me the back of it (I should've asked). The layers looked a little blunt, but I thought maybe it was how she styled it. I checked out (no tip) and went home. That's when I saw that it was uneven in the back and the layers were not blended at all.

After trying to play with it and make it look nice, I realized there was no helping this crappy cut. I called the manager and told her about my visit. She said they would fix it, and I wouldn't be charged anything extra for it. I had an appointment the next day at 3:00 with the lady the frog jumped on since I declined to have the master stylist cut it again (which is usually their policy if you get a bad cut).

When I arrived a few minutes early, there was no one in the back of the salon. I asked an employee on the floor  to see if the girl was available and to let her know I arrived. She came back and said she was back there. I waited twenty minutes. I heard the blow dryer going off, so I assumed she must've been with a client. I wish she would have acknowledged I was waiting for her, or maybe the employee could have said that she was with a client and would be with me shortly. I seriously contemplated leaving, but I didn't want to go to work with my hair looking like it was.

When the lady was ready to cut my hair, she was very sweet. She apologized for not being able to cut it the previous day. When she removed the clip from my hair, she saw what was wrong with it right away. One side was longer than the other. The layers were very choppy and uneven around my face.
A manager came to check on it, and when she saw my hair, she made a disgusted facial expression. I got the hint that I was not the first customer this happened to.

Anyway, the hair appointment went fine. She had to take some of the length off in order to make it even. My hair is shorter than I wanted, and I have more layers than I asked for. Needless to say, I will not ever go back to this salon. I will continue to shop at Ulta is why I gave this review two stars.

BEWARE! WORST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER! My hair fell out after I got highlights!!! The black girl there left me sitting for 1.5hrs after she put blonde highlights in my hair so she could do a FULL hair color on her friend! I asked her repeatedly to check my hair and if it was ok she kept telling me yeah it's fine when I'm fact it was not at ALL!! Finally when she took the foils out my hair it was falling out bad, my the handful! When I confronted her she literally started yelling at me saying it was my fault! I was so humiliated and embarrassed. I went to leave immediately and still had to pay and the snuddy girls at the register said "you know you can add a tip"!!!!i just can't believe how I was treated! There was no manager on duty at the time so when I got home I called ulta's 800 number where I was told a manager would call me back we'll that never happened and after several more phone calls I finally received a email from the manager askin me to call her so I did and all she offered was to tell me to come in once a week for a treatment mask! UNBELIEVABLE! Here I've lost half my hair(every single strand that was bleached for 1.5hrs!) and my hair was long (to very lower back)and beautiful before I went here now since this happened my hair had to be cut very short and layered to try to hide the damage and breakage! Please listen to my Warning and DONT use Ulta salon in Hammond, la!! They don't know or care about what they are doing!! AT ALL!!!!!!
