POC BEWARE!

I had a pretty bad experience today. My stylist was Tommy. He began by mentioning how curly my hair was after he washed it. He spent all of 5 minute cutting my hair before he started blowing it out. He said he would cut more after blowing it out. Inferring my hair was so unmanageable that it was necessary. I have wavy hair, just above my shoulders. I've never had a stylist not be able to cut my hair while it was wet. He then began aggressively blowing out my hair, constantly hitting my shoulders with the styling brush. I finally had to ask him to not be so rough. I left with hair all over me because he made no effort at all. Barely said a word to me except to take off my glasses.

I am a person of color and the only thing I can't infer from his behavior is that he was disgusted to work on my hair.

Too bad, I really wanted to like this salon as I live two blocks away.

I've been getting my hair cut by Paige and colored by Tiffany, and I couldn't be happier! Paige does an amazingly incredible job. I have thin, very straight hair- and isn't the easiest to cut. I always tell her to do what she think needs to be done, and I always leave beyond satisfied. She's also SO fast!! Tiffany is also very talented, and I've been super happy with my color. Great stylists are hard to come by, give them a shout if you're in the market!

I just got back from The Parlour and made a Yelp account specifically so I could give them 5 stars. Jennifer and Katie did my Dome monofibre extensions, and both of them were really nice and fun to be with while I sat through the process (which took a few hours). They were also perfectionists -- Jennifer custom-blended my extensions to perfectly match my real hair, and both spent a lot of time making sure that everything was perfect before I left. The result is that my hair looks absolutely amazing!
After I was done (at around 9, since they stayed open late to see me), it was taking the cab forever to get there, and both of them waited with me for over an hour and called multiple cab companies until the cab got there. Jennifer was even ready to drive me and my bike home if the cab hadn't shown up.
Overall, GO TO THE PARLOUR. Hands-down the best salon experience I've ever had.

Nicole did my makeup for our wedding about a month ago. She was very nice, used the colors I wanted, and made me look fabulous. The building itself was a little difficult to find, but the inside is lovely, and she met us at our venue right outside of the French Quarter.

I have been going to Katie Brackvitch as my hair dresser for a couple years now.  She recently moved to The Parlour, the new salon is amazing!  The people that work there are all really nice and helpful.  Katie does an awesome job with whatever new style I wanna try out on my hair.  She loves trying out new techniques and styles on me and always gives me an outstanding, edgy haircut.  She also has done some color work for some of my girl friends, she never ceases to amaze me with her skills.  If you are looking for a new, trendy hair stylist definitely stop by The Parlour and give her a try.  You won't be disappointed!
