My sisters and I only attend this salon. It's quite a distance from where I live, seeing as I live in Jersey City, but it's well worth it. Jay does our hair perfectly. Exactly how we want it. Always friendly and attentive.
ASOLUTELY HATED IT! My mother recommended me to come here because a friend of hers from church works there. Mind you we are also Brazilian so I thought it would be fine since it's not like there is any time of language barrier. I had been growing out my hair for almost 2 years with a few trims here and there to keep it healthy. Finally I was ready for something new and since I have naturally dark brown/black hair I wanted to try a super short bob/pixie cut and a lighter look. I thought about going blonde like how my sister had. When I got there my mother's friend greeted me fine and I explained to her exactly what I wanted and had multiple photos to reference. She disregarded the photos and asked me to go through the 10 year old hairstyle magazines. It had nothing remotely close to what I wanted so I showed the photos I had again and she still disregarded them! She said because I need to bleach my head to go blonde she wouldn't do it so I would have to get highlights every few weeks added in until I was fully blonde. I said I didn't care about the bleach and to do my whole head I wasn't going to spend more money coming in every 6 weeks to have more added when I can get it all over with now. She wasn't budging and because I had to be somewhere later on I gave in. When it came down to the actual hair cut it was HORRIBLE! Nothing like what I wanted! I wanted my haircut to be SUPER short up to my ears. And knowing that most places when you ask for a trim and they cut it all off I didn't think this would be a problem this time. I was wrong! She hates cutting hair short (hence why her hair is down to her ass). Every time she was about to pick up the dryer to finish my hair I kept telling her to go shorter and she insisted it would bounce up to look shorter after it dried. I explained to her not by 3 inches it wouldn't! I've had shorter hair than what I was asking for years before I knew what I was talking about. She slowly and hesitantly cut it shorter and shorter but never got to the length I wanted and I was getting impatient. I started to slowly notice one side was longer than the other and she claimed it was perfectly aligned when it clearly wasn't! So the end of the story I left with hair 2 inches longer than I wanted that was crooked, a dye job that wasn't what I asked for and also fried my hair! When I tried redying my hair somewhere else the dye wouldn't stay! Not even for a week!!! I had to go through several treatments to try and restore my hairs health just so I could try and redye it back to my normal color but the streaks kept showing! It took 6 months of trying to get it to even out finally! And I can still see some parts of my ends being lighter than the rest! DON'T COME HERE! OR AT LEAST COME AT YOUR OWN RISK! If I could give negative stars I would!
