Sunset Nails in Rocky Mount, NC

I have been going here for over 15  years and they are extremely professional excellent and very respectfull. They go above and beyond what you request and are patient with the older people who come in that need that extra help. The place is always clean and comfortable. I have seen people take advantage of them in the past but God is Good. They have upgraded there pedicure chairs and I'm ready to try one out this weekend. Get there early they stay busy.

Walked in for a pedicure and was helped right away.  The guy did an amazing job and really focused on my problem areas- cuticles and callous spots. Was very well taken care of and received excellent service. No nail shops in town take appointments really and I was just visiting for the weekend. Not disappointed at all! Reasonable prices for services provided. Large selection of colors. Not overly smelling of chemicals. And comfy massage chairs.

I came here in hopes of getting in fairly quickly because I had called other places and they all had said they have at least an hour wait. I called Sunset and the man that answered the phone said he had availability right now. I get there less than 2 minutes later, and there are 3 people in front of me. Now, that being said, I wasn't mad. 3 people HAS to go quickly. Nope! I waited 2.5 hours for a gel manicure. I was fairly lightheaded because of the smells and I didn't have the energy to get up and walk out, plus I had called a couple other local places and it would've been a longer wait. Sunset does not take reservations, by the way. I finally sat down and the man but my fingers in straight acetone, which burned some of my skin. A lady came and then but the acetone bowl in warm water, which was nice for a minute until it was burning hot. I told the man that it was too hot and he kept motioning for me to put my fingers back in, NOT paying attention to me at all. When he did finally come over to start, it was 30 minutes later. 3 hours of waiting total. I was just ready to be out of there and didn't mention anything to the man about how ridiculous it was. He did the worst gel mani I have ever seen. One coat of the colored polish and then he put the sealants on. Despite all of this, the place seemed fairly clean, but not worth my money at all.

They did extra care on my poor calloused feet, and they catered to my 4 year old perfectly. She loved feeling like a big girl whole getting her pedi. I wish they had a bigger selection of brighter colors for the summer, but overall it was a good experience. We are from out of state and didn't know where to go whole we were here visiting. Thanks to Yelp reviews for this recommendation.

I can't say enough great things about this nail salon. I'm home for the holidays and needed to get a fresh mani/pedi. Last year, Lee Nails in Golden East Mall was horrible! Came to Yelp and saw all of the good reviews for Sunset. I had a wonderful experience. The prices are reasonable, everyone is friendly, and they take their time. Even though they were busy, they gave each client top-notch service. This is where you need to come if you're looking for a good service!!
