I loathe getting my nails done at Star Nails. It doesn't even deserve the 1 star. The technicians and desk workers are indifferent and insolent to the point of being incredibly rude. They never greet you or ask you how you want your nails done (like clipping, shaping or cutting cuticles). The only thing going for it is the convenience. It used to be very clean and now that the pandemic is over, it seems like they don't try very hard to keep the area and the nail toolkits clean. Gina and the men are the worst but in 5 years, I've never left there in a good mood. Somebody with excellent customer service skills should definitely open a nail salon or day spa in Newport and turn this place on its ear!
Wish I could give zero stars!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WAY OVERPRICED!! Went in for dip powder manicure with tips and the guy I had did an awful job!! It's an extra $15 to have almond shaped nails which no one told me until after they did the shaping and no base coat for powder done at all! Three of my nails broke within a DAY of getting them done! Worst experience ever and Im never going back again. Employees were extremely rude and constantly on phones. It was a huge waste of $80 and I cannot believe it was $80 for a MANICURE! Save your money and go somewhere else! ANYWHERE
I had a terrible experience here. No one was friendly and they treated my requests (color, design, shape, etc) like a joke and acted like I was high maintenance for simple requests. They literally laughed in my face multiple times. They kept saying that they didn't have time to do things when they took my appointment two hours before close. They were so eager to leave that even 30 minutes before close they were already mopping around my chair. They severely up charged me $28 for a simple French tip design. I never go to this place and I only came in for a promotion they were having, and I will never come again.
I want to love this place. It's convenient, nice setting, clean, but the staff seems miserable. The work is very inconsistent. They never say thank you. When you give them a tip. Not sure I'll be returning.
I had a great experience at the salon. Joshua gave me a pedicure and manicure. I highly recommend him. He has such a relaxing touch. It's a gift. Although they charge more than what I pay at home, this is Newport on Bellevue in the middle of summer so I think their price is okay.
