I enjoyed going to SmartStyle as I am also a shopper at Walmart as it's very convenient. I've been going there since last year, but no more. Don't get on Shelby's bad side. She saw me in the store one day recently around 3:30, during working hours. I was hoping to have my hair trimmed that day. But, she actually CLOSED the gate, went to the back room and didn't respond at all, pretending not to know I was there when she clearly knew I was. No problem, I will happily go elsewhere.
Shelby is fantastic takes her time to do a preface cut each time. I have brought my kids to her and she does great with them. She put the most beautiful blue and green streaks in my daughter's hair and she go so many compliments on them. She was calm and patient with my special needs sister. As a caregiver for elderly women I have brought a few clients in and the salon always treats them well. I will look forward to my next visit.
Shelby at SmartStyle in Mount Vernon does excellent work. I take my grandkids to see her and I am always very happy with the way their hair turns out. She knows exactly what to do with my hair each time I see her.
I have been here twice. Once w jasmine and once w Shelby. Jasmine was definitely more interested in pushing products than giving me the cut I wanted. She was not engaging and made me feel like she needed me out ASAP. Even tough I made an appointment and was not a walk in. Decided to go with Shelby next time. I told her to trim all split ends on each layer she only trimmed the longest length and didn't trim around the face like I asked. Definitely the laziest cuts in my life. Clearly not interested styling or recurring clients will not be back.
Jasmine was supposed to color my friends hair today. She was paid $140.00 to do so and style her hair as well. My friend is in tears over the way her hair looks. The color is all over her face. Her hair is completely the wrong color and was supposed to be two tones. It is not. Jasmine was supposed to blow dry and straighten her hair it is frizzy and lifeless. She didn't even use a straghtener. There are bleach spots all over her hair due to non coverage with the color. Jasmine is a terrible hair dresser. Do not waste your time or money with her. She needs to go back to school for this. Very Pathetic job done.
