A Mexican restaurant in rural Minnesota run by a guy who sounds like he came from NY doesn't seem like the most likely scenario, but we had lunch there because of Yelp reviews and we were glad we did. The salsa was excellent, our entrees were very well seasoned and very tasty. The food was much better than at quite a few "more authentic" Mexican restaurants!
Really liked the food here. Chips were awesome and so was the rest of our lunch.
Best chips ever. The mild salsa was thick and and mild with just a slight bite, but still flavorful for the spicy lovers to enjoy it for other reasons. We had sides of the guacamole which was good, but not my very favorite. The waitress was super friendly. The best part was the music. Instead of playing ridiculous Mexican themed music, they played an awesome variety of songs that almost everyone could recognize. If nothing else, go for the authentic and homemade chips. Also, it seems that Saturday nights they have beer pong, but if you leave before 10ish, you won't be stuck watching.
We are still talking about their amazing, homemade, warm tortilla chips...oh my gosh, the best ever! Delightful wait staff and very, very good food. We live in the Twin Cities and have talked often since our dinner there in February about wanting to drive to Wabasha JUST for dinner!
