Sila's Salon & Bundle Boutique in Acworth, GA

It's been about a year. But I was excited to find a salon that does African American hair in my neighborhood. The day of my appointment it was outing down rain, I live about a mile away so was driving slowly. I made it to the shop at 12:28 for a 12:30 appt. I look at my messages and the owner is asking me to reschedule. I walked into the shop and ignored the text. I wasn't late. When I made the appointment online, she had a 12 noon, 12:30 pm which I took and a 5:00 pm. I was in the midst of getting my hair done, all of a sudden an elderly lady comes in at 1:30. She , the owner I believe, stopped doing my hair and asked if she could put color on the lady's hair " real fast ". I obliged, what could I say. Even though I'm sure she was the the noon appointment. She took more than 1 hour. She barely apologized for the delay. When she got back to me, she burnt me with flat iron . I later found a bald spot in the same area where she burned me. She was 80% done with my hair but still chose to do this put her other client before me. I remained calm, paid her a decent tip and never returned. Very rude to first time customer. She probably doesn't even remember this . I have not returned. I do not recommend if I could give negative star I would. Mary B

I have been to this salon for years. John and Sila brought a much needed black hair salon to this area, but ever since Clara passed away the stylist never stay around long and the only one that has, has decided to control the salon and not let clients that have been there since the beginning even make an appointment? I am trying to decide if it is because myself and my daughter aren't cool enough or because I made a comment about how a happy accident of cutting my bangs too short ended up working perfectly on my vacation where the humidity was insane and curly was the only way or just because they can. To anyone reading just know that it is a salon that will cut you out without a given reason. (Ashante just kept telling me "there is no availability" I asked for two weeks worth of dates for any stylist. It was Creepy.) As for me, a stay at home mom of kids in elementary, middle and high school who has never once caused drama in this shop and always tips well, not that it matters, but for reference I'm not a drama queen or a trouble maker. I only get my hair trimmed. I am a basic momtastic person, apparently not cool enough for this hip salon though. I don't think this is what Sila was thinking this would be, but here we are. As for the work they do, just don't fall in love with any stylist and refer to the cult classic episode of Seinfeld called "The Soup Nazi" to get the rules of the place before you!

Sila's Salon and stylist are WONDERFUL!! I took my teenage daughter for braids--long (waist length), two color, small box braids. Nancy braided her hair. Nancy is professional! She arrived on time, got right to it and to my amazement, she did not take a break for more than a short few minutes at a time. She is FAST! She is PRECISE! She provided EXACTLY the style my daughter had longed for! (and she is a particular. teen!) Nancy knocked out those waist length, small box braids in 5hrs, which was exactly the time she estimated it would be! Claire, stylist greeted us when we arrived. Like Nancy, she was kind, professional and a pleasure to talk to! There was a gentleman there with us towards the end of the appointment. He answers the phone periodically. He was also very kind! All are super down to earth and again, professional, which is important to me! Covid Measures - all staff wore masks and maintained Covid precautions! PROS - clean salon - professional staff (kind as well) - precise and efficient stylist - on time - location (easy to find, plenty of parking) CONS - none! Shockingly, and I am very particular, but Sila's truly came through! It was good reviews like mine, which made me decide to give Sila's Salon a try! We were 1000% pleased!

I love getting my hair done here! Always felt welcomed! Clairice always does my hair and she does a great job!!!

The braider (Grace) stole two bags of my hair. I was quoted one price over the phone for a braid style. I got there and the stylist tried to charge me another price. I came in with five bags of braiding hair, but braids are thin enough to look like one bag. Although the braid style is considerably cute, they are significantly different from the style that I requested. My hair was braided so tight that it looked like my hair was being pulled out of my scalp. Everyone that saw my hair via pictures or in person have forewarned me that I shouldn't expect to have any edges when I take my hair down. I had two bags left and believe it or not she took the my last two additional bags that were with my things and kept them. I had already told her that I was going to take the bags back to the store at a later date to exchange them. She pretended like she was going to exchange them for the color she had already put in my head for me so that I didn't have to go back to the store. She did not ask could she keep them. Sadly I didn't think about my two bags until I left. Yeah I won't be back.
