Shear Passion Salon in Steamboat Springs, CO

If any Steamboat peeps are in search of a new stylist, there is a new guy in town, who is excellent at color and also gave me a fantastic cut today. His name is Stephen Pruitt and he's at Shear Passion at TriBeCa over by Alpine Bank. He has 13 years experience in Summit County and is beginning to accumulate a clientele here. He is a great guy, very reliable, very consistent, and does great work. Edit: Shear Passion is now located downtown.

I was quite scared to try someone new for my color. Living in Nashville, I was spending an extended period of time out of time and in Steamboat. After extensive research, I read about Stephen at Shear Passion. The location was perfect, the reviews amazing, so I went for it. He was so so great!. The color was far above "just right" - the color he used had no ammonia in it - I couldn't figure out why the smell was pleasant. Stephen was meticulous in matching my color even tho I came with a formula from my colorist. And, I love what he did. Nice blow dry as well. HIGHLY recommend.

This salon is amazing! I usually only get my hair done by my sister but Jess did such an amazing job i'm obsessed with my hair! The products she used felt amazing and my hair has never looked better!

My husband and I moved permanently to Steamboat Springs from the Denver metro area in September 2017. Every time I needed a hair cut or color, I went back to my hairstylist in Denver. I had to plan hair appointments with doctor appointments or family visits. If I did not have an appointment in Denver, I had to wait a few months until I did to have my hair done. It was getting old quickly!!! I went to YELP and researched the hair salons in Steamboat. I looked at those with 4 star ratings only. I finally settled on Steve Pruitt with Shear Passion because he received 5 stars from every single customer. I also liked that I was able to make an appointment online without having to wait until the salon opened the next day. It also gave me an estimated time I would spend in the salon. It was snowing on the day of my appointment. When I sat down with Steve, I showed him the cut I wanted. He used my hair color as the basis for my new hair color with him. He listened to everything I requested and asked me before he did anything. He explained each step as he did them. Now I know why he has a 5 star rating. He is amazing and another review said, he is a perfectionist...HE IS! My entire appointment took 3 hours as estimated. I love my hairstyle and I most certainly love the low light and high light colors that Steve selected. What I love the most is the price. Compared to the price I was paying in Denver, Steve's price is so much more reasonable. I am definitely going back to Steve for all future cuts and low/high lights!

Steve does a great job! He is quite the perfectionist and does everything he can to make you look your best!
