I have loved Shampoo JC for the past several years, but have hated the way they've handled recent price adjustments. Received an email that some services would be increasing in price - with no detail about what services or how much. Turns out, it's all services & it's pretty substantial. Haircuts went from $60 to $100 for some stylists....that's not an increase...that's a price doubling! Shampoo JC was a gem, but one of the reasons I loved it was for its value....which made sense given it was not a super luxe experience. At these price points, I may have to call my NYC stylist again.
Fav go to blow dry place in Jc ! Worked with Carolina , she was great , kind , efficient her blow drys always lasted!
If you have long and full set of curly thick hair don't come to this salon! I came in for a full head balayage, cut and blow out. from the beginning most of the staff kept mentioning I have a lot of hair at first I smiled and agreed because its true until the comments kept on coming, the tone started changing and I even noticed the stylist getting annoyed and rolling her eyes in annoyance because she underestimated the amount of hair I had. meanwhile I was her only client! I understand working on my hair takes patience and time but I honestly felt sooo uncomfortable. I then suggested not to have her blow out my hair. I gave the stylist a good tip for her time and work but I left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. there should be more awareness and self control on attitudes and more professionalism. I rather travel far to my regular salon then go back here and leaving feeling uncomfortable . I've never had an experience like this and I suggest they improve their customer service.
Over charge turned my hair even more orange and chemical cut my money piece. I will say that did get me in last minute and were very nice just not a level for a 600+ price tag
