SalonOne19 & Spa in Leawood, KS

I made an appointment for a color & cut but was asked to have a consult first. I showed up for my consult 5 minutes late (my first time and the location was a bit challenging to find). I was told the stylist was busy and couldn't see me for another two weeks. No other options were offered. So I went somewhere else and I won't be back.

I went into the Salon and was instantly greeted by the receptionist who was very sweet and got me checked in right away. I had an appointment with Leah who listened attentively when I shared what I wanted and showed her a picture of what I was going for. She took her time with me and we had great conversations! She was absolutely amazing and I LOVED my hair!! I can't wait to go back!

Above and beyond expectations every single time! I love a more natural bronde but lived in look with an ashy toner and Brittany delivers every time. She keeps up with the most up to date looks and techniques and is probably one of the sweetest people I've ever met! Thanks Britt! See you in a few months.

I made sure to attempt to come to a reasonable accommodation for the experience that I had at the salon with the salon owner. But because we weren't able to come to a reasonable agreement, I thought it only appropriate for me to share my experience here.

This salon does a very poor job at managing expectations when it comes to hair color appointments. My stylist, though she was friendly, did not properly reset my expectations when I showed pictures of what I was trying to achieve in the session time that we had available. It was indicated to me that I would be "substantially brighter" but all that was done was a root touch up, for $230.

The salon owner took no personal responsibility, and was only willing to provide me with a toner when I requested that half of my money be reimbursed because of what little impact the $230 I spent had on my hair.

I have attached pictures of before and after to showcase what little work was done to make me "substantially brighter".

My advice? Don't come here if you are wanting to have clear communication and understanding and empathy You won't find it here.

Edit to add: My original review was 2 stars but I came to update it to one star for the following reason:

I had to go spend another $200 with a different stylist who listened to my concerns and was able to provide me with my desired outcome, which the salon owner at salon one 19, Lisa,  insisted would take 9 hours for us to do. And the stylist I went to was able to get me to my desired look in a matter of 2.5 hours-- the same amount of time the other stylist had to do my hair as presented on the pictures. If you would like a stylist who is willing to listen with empathy and perform her talents beautifully on your hair, then I recommend Meghan at 315 Westport Rd Kansas City. I was asking for $100, a partial reimbursement of funds for services not rendered for not following through on my request

Got my first pedi.   It was a great experience.  I loved every part of it.  All I had to do was sit back and enjoy the experience.  I'll be a regular.
