Salon Halloo in Scappoose, OR

So I am new to the area and made an appointment here a few months back. Had a good experience, so I brought my son in. Had another good experience, so I brought my 7 year old autistic daughter in for her very first professional haircut. I do not believe this salon is meant specifically for kids, but I will never go to another stylist again. All 3 times, we worked with Lillie and she was beyond amazing. My daughter was very nervous, and a little scared. Lillie spoke to her throughout the whole process and eased all of her fears. Listened to what she wanted and gave her some extra wiggles when she needed them. The salon itself is VERY nice, with gorgeous decorations and a very welcoming feel. I literally cannot recommend this place enough, specifically Lillie. If y'all aren't going here, what are you doing? I'm not going to post any pictures of my children, but both children's hair looked amazing! You can really tell, watching Lillie work, that she is incredibly talented and passionate about her work. I was brought to tears today over how she treated my daughter. Absolutely phenomenal place with even better staff. Highly recommend, 10000000/10.

I typically don't do anything special with my long hair. I shampoo it, I let it air dry, and I have it cut annually. That's about it. However, having lived in many cities across the globe for research, for those annual cuts I have patronized salons everywhere from central London, Mumbai, and Bogotá to DC and Chicago. Then between COVID, childbirth, and postpartum hair shedding this year, I let my hair care lapse for even longer and was in need of some serious help.

Being new to this area, a friend recommended that I check out Salon Halloo, located just five minutes from my house. I booked an appointment with the owner, Shannon, and I proceeded to have a great experience - so great, in fact, that I will now happily seek regular hair maintenance through Salon Halloo.

I love how Shannon really listens to her clients and delivers a custom cut based on both what you want and what flatters your face and physique. For me, I chose to keep things simple with light, face-framing layers and a nice, rounded look in back. She cut it in such a way that my fringe of hair regrowth will blend into the softer layers around the face and throughout my head. Shannon was also very gentle with my hair; I felt no pulling or aggressive brushing - which I find is fairly common and leaves my sensitive scalp feeling irritated. But not here, and not with her! Her many years of experience are evident in the delivery and quality of her artistry. I happily agreed to book another appointment in January for a maintenance cut to keep up with the copious hair regrowth and keep my mane looking professional, and I'm already looking forward to it! I had Kim as my hair stylist and she was great! I went in for a basic trim getting my split ends cut off and she worked diligently. Due to Covid-19 masks had to be on but that didn't stop her from doing a job well done. She is awesome! Highly recommend!
