Salon 80 Hair and Spa-AVEDA in Cottage Grove, MN

Salon 80 was a great find. While sitting in the waiting area I immediately felt a sense of calm...a waterfall flows down a glass case, many green plants and music fill the salon? There are Aveda products for purchase. My appointment was with the stylist and owner, Traci. It was much more than a haircut. She massaged my head with special product and placed a hot towel, she also offered a hot towel for my face. She is knowledgeable and helpful with the direction I wanted to go with my hair. She is a great mentor and has a salon full of talented hair stylists! In this positive environment I feel confident that any one of the stylists would be a good choice.

Awet did a fabulous job on my color. Went from warm tone at-home color with lots of grey outgrowth to a beautiful blending of highlights and low lights to help me transition to all grey. She met me where I was with ideas and executed the end result beautifully. Salon is lovely and staff was very hospitable!

I just moved into town and needed my hair done for engagement photo shoot. when I called to make an appointment is told the women on the phone "I have extra long and extra thick hair. please book me extra time like 3 to 3.5 hours" for the first time in my life they listened to me and booked me extra time. so I was hopeful. then I got there and my hair stylist Jessie was horrible to me. she was beyond rude. kept telling me I have too much hair and she will do what she can but she has to be done by noon (my appt was at 10) I showed her what I wanted and she shook her head and told me no. she said "um we won't have time for that." I was shook! so I was like okay... can I get some highlights and low lights then? and she rolled her eyes and said fine. when showing her a different pic of the colors I wanted she said "you know it's not going to look like that right?" I was like "well yes... my hair is completely different than the one pictured. it's an inspo photo. these are just the colors I would like" she took a step back and said I will do what I can but no exceptions on me going over the booking time. (which I get like you have other clients) she comes back and starts the foils. I wanted and paid for a full foil! she did the top and the sides and 2 sets under my hair. the back middle never even touched. I have to choose a different hair style for my photos because it actually looks unfinished. the color job was amazing and I love the outcome of where she applied the color. I am very displeased with her professionalism and her attitude. it was my first time there and to be honest I won't be back. I felt like such and inconvenience to her. I needed to use the bathroom and avoided doing so because I didn't want to upset her! and the entire time she was doing my hair she kept hitting my face with the brush (I found it kind of funny) after she washed my hair she said well I will dry it as best as I can and let it do what it wants (which I was fine with... it takes a hot minute to dry all of my hair!) she did style it and I was very happy with that. but I can't stop thinking about her treatment towards a first time customer. its not like I went out of my way to have HER do my hair! and when I brush or style it I see all the spots she missed and it makes me sad. like I have to always keep my hair up or you can tell it is half done. :/ this was suppose to be a fun experience for my engagement photo's.... guess I just won't take pictures from the back

I have gotten my lashes done by Mandi here two times now! She has amazing talent and is very nice. The salon owner came into where I work and told me about her and I think more people should know about Mandi and her excellent work. Not only that but, her prices are very affordable! I am a college student and that is something I look for and I was very pleased!

Mandi never fails to disappoint when it comes to lash extensions. Beyond impressed with the quality and longevity of these lashes. Best extensions I've had.
