Salon 328 in Ann Arbor, MI

My hair is the best it's ever been thanks to Monica. She is simply amazing! I wish I could post a before and after because after seeing it, you would see her and no one else for your color. Her application of the PERFECT highlights, low lights and toner gave me the color I've been chasing for years. I couldn't be happier!

I went in to get ombre for my naturally dark brown hair as well as a hair cut. I showed Sophie a picture and she said it was totally doable! Not only did 4 inches of my hair get cut off instead of the 1inch we had discussed, the ombre was not dark brown to a light brown but to a BRIGHT ORANGE that continued to lighten into a Tony the Tiger orange over the next 24 hours. It's seriously terrible. I was also quoted around $150 and it ended up being $328!! When I contacted her to tell her the hair had lightened and became even more orange she told me that she posted the picture on Facebook and that everyone else liked it so I just needed to give it time. On top of all of this, it was one of the most painful hair experiences that I had. She pulled my hair so hard repeatedly that I teared up. She left me with a sore scalp and neck. Going to a different Salon to have it fixed. After paying over $300 this is not what I wanted or expected.

I received a call from Sophie after writing the review. She offered to redo my hair on the house. I give her props for calling me up and wanting to rectify the situation. It's clear that she aims to please her clients. I just came back from getting the new keratin treatment, so we will see. I'll probably schedule an appointment to get a facial or massage with her later when I'm in the area.

I tried this place b/c I had a LS coupon. The lady was nice but very insistent on buying new products the entire time she was doing my hair. I went in to redo my highlights. I have been doing this for years and my last stylist didn't use bleach and I kept insisting that I don't want bleach. She kept saying that she had to bleach my hair for the color to work so I gave in but then I had to pay for the toner since it wasn't included. The color was ok, a little too brassy for my taste. The one good thing was that she made the highlights really close to my scalp but by doing so she wasn't very gentle with my hair. In the end I had a lot of broken hairs and a sore head from the pulling. Also, the "natural" product she kept trying to sell me, made my forehead/face break out which took a few weeks for me to get back to normal. (I am also very sensitive to new products. So it's not the fault of the stylist for my break out. My skin is just very picky.) Eh, not really my style. Don't think I'll come back.
