Bloomfield Nails & Spa of Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, MI

I'm knocking a couple stars off this review... Since my original 4-star review, Bloomfield Nails has really deteriorated. The once clean and comfortable salon, now is broken down-looking and kind of always a mess, which has left me questioning how sanitary it is. The salon is still busy with guests, but it seems like there are fewer staff leading to longer wait-times. The prices are in keeping with other salons with far superior service, so given diminishing quality and new (better) competition in the area, I now prefer to take my business elsewhere.

Went in for a fill in and the manager was super rude was nice that there was no wait time but the manager made me feel terrible my nails are all different shapes but most importantly I just felt like it was all rushed

Called same day for an appointment for a pedicure. Had several times to choose from. This salon is located across from Arborland on Washtenaw. The nail chairs were pretty busy but there was only one other person getting a pedi. I sat in the massage chair and put my feet in the water to soak. The water tubs are lined with a disposable liner. All staff and patrons were wearing masks and staff wore gloves to perform the pedicure. There are plexiglass dividers at the nail area between staff and patrons, but not much room between patrons. The woman next to me has a guy doing her pedicure who carried on a conversation with her. My guy spoke very little except to tell me when to put my feet in and out of the water. He was older than the guy working on the patron next to me. Maybe spoke less English? Or just wasn't chatty. At least the 2 guys were not talking amongst themselves. There is a place to sit where your toes dry. A fan for your hands and one for your feet. Some of the pedi chairs look like they have seen better days. I did not see anyone sanitize the chair after the other woman was done with her pedi. I didn't see them wipe down my chair while I was drying. That could have happened later- I just didn't see it. Took about 30 minutes plus dry time

My best friend and I took her 1 year old daughter with us here to get all three of our nails done. They sat us, and did me and my best friends' nails. Then they had the tech move to another client without completing the baby's nails. They acted like we hadn't asked for them to quickly paint her tiny little finger nails. The tech also told me that it was too much money for me to get the coffin shape. If I couldn't afford to go get my nails done the way that I wanted them, I would not have gone. In the end, our nails were lumpy, uneven in length, and they broke so fast. Definitely don't recommend this place. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately my third experience at this establishment has caused me to NEVER visit ever again. I received a pedicure. The tech was a seasoned woman. It was necessary for me to advise on what needed to occur in its to improve my experience. I had to request a toe nail cut down twice, foot scrub was minimal leaving my heels scaly, and shellac application was messy which was reflective of grooves, humps and excess shellac on my toes and cuticles. I was offered a more in depth scrub for an additional ten dollars ofwhich I declined as on my two previous visits the tech achieved a scrub that met and exceeded my expectations by leaving my soles/heels smooth. I'm sorely disappointed as I respected and appreciated the quality of service and work I've received in the past. My family and friends were extremely impressed with how nicely shaped and colored my toes were from my previous visits even desiring to visit Bloomfield Nails. I'm sure their desire will change once they get a glimpse of my most recent pedicure. I wasted $50 on a pedicure I could have done at home. This self care effort was ruined. Truly a disappointment!!!
