Republic Salon in Folsom, CA

This review is for Ashley. She is not good with cutting hair or with highlighting blond hair. I was really surprised that she could not understand me when I informed her what I wanted. I've been getting my hair highlighted for 30 years, and I have never had someone that could not communicate with me. The haircut is as simple as you can get, one length straight across. However after cutting my hair there was always a clump of hair that was not cut with the rest, and left much longer. I either had to cut it myself, or go back for her to cut it again. Also, the last time she cut it about 2 inches shorter than I asked, and when I said something after the cut, she was just defensive and argumentative. She did not know what to do when I requested light blond highlights even though I explained thoroughly to her. I gave her multiple chances, but she can not communicate with you, so you just get what SHE wants, not what you want. Sadly, if you try to communicate with her, she just gets rude and frustrated and then just refuses to do your hair. I can't waste my time and money with her, I have since found a wonderful place that understands customer service.

I was referee to this salon by a friend and here it is four years later and still get a great haircut at a very reasonable price. Everyone is super friendly and are always hospitable and accommodating. When you go to a salon to get any work done the results are speculative and I understand that. What one person loves another could be disappointed. I always love my haircuts and am always pleased with the results, but for a place to become my go to place it has to be a place I trust. Republic is a place I think everyone can trust. My stylist (Alex) has my back and even if something goes wrong I have peace of mind that she will take care of it. That means the world to me. The salon has a great atmosphere with very stylish and modern decor. They are clean and safe with a detailed cleaning regimen that everyone follows. I'll update this in another four years because I am sure I will still be here.

I have been coming to this place for a year and they do keep it pretty clean and organize and they offer drinks to which is a plus for me. I do recommended Natalie I have been going to her for maybe 3 years and she has made hair look so good and pretty. She is really good about listening to what you want they are times I don't even know what to do with my hair I asked what she thinks and I've always loved her ideas cause I'm always looking for something new to do.

I love supporting a business who truest knows and cares about their clients. During the COVID pandemic the salon was still able to provide their clients with products by offering curbside pickup; Carmen the owner even met me at the salon on a weekend to give me my much needed hair treatment products! I know they don't make much off of this type of service but it shows they CARE ABOUT HAIR and clients! Thank you so much ladies for everything you do! What a beautiful place and experience. I highly recommend Kimberly Vara as your hair stylist. She was very knowledgeable with my color and cut. Had a really awesome time.
