Rendezvous Nail & Day Spa in Yorktown Heights, NY

This is by far the most worst nail salon in this area! I was overcharged for a pedicure because I wanted UV gel polish l, now I understand there is an extra charge to have that done but not $40 it was absurd I tried to talk to the manager about how I felt and what I was charged she agreed to give me a refund and told me to come in the following day when I did she got the owner and with three people in his salon he rudely asked me what I came there for and why I was there, I calmly asked him to step outside and explain my feelings as I am in this business as well, and that's I will taken back at such a high price extra charge and I was told by the manager I was going to be giving a refund he was very unprofessional and rude screaming at me, I remained calm asking him to do the same! doesntvmake sense why you have a business for over 40 years but then all of a sudden remodel it and change the name, because maybe he was trying to cover up the shady business in fool the town that it's under new management? this place is horrible!! and they treat the pedicure girls like slaves there are many other wonderful places to go for pedicures but this place I do not recommend I give it two thumbs down

Not a fan! It wasn't the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon, but it definitely ranks second worst. I got my first ever set of acrylic nails done here after getting a gift certificate. I didn't know much about acrylic nails so I wasn't sure of the norms and what to expect. It took 2 hours to get them done, which I quickly learned is extremely drawn-out for an acrylic set. At other nail salons, the longest I've sat to get my full set done was an hour. The end result of my nails were clumpy and uneven, not at all smooth and clean like I had hoped. I had a $50 gift certificate and they asked me to pay the rest in cash. I said I was paying the rest in card and they insisted they would only accept cash. I said that I know they don't take only cash because I'd be there in the past and I knew for certain they took card. My nails took way too long to get done, they were clumpy and done poorly, and it was too expensive for the quality of my nails and the experience entirely. I'd always been told that the people who work here aren't friendly and try to slyly throw in extra costs. After giving them a chance since I had gotten a gift certificate, I decided it's not worth the time and money. I've never gone back and everyone I know who has gone here had similar experiences and hasn't gone back as well. I recommend finding a different nail salon!

Never in my life have I ever seen a salon charge $100 for a new UV gel tip set!! And that was AFTER telling the lady behind the counter that $120 was way too expensive for a set. She spoke briefly with the owner who then lowered the price by switching me to a different type of cheaper polish. Ridiculous! My usual salon is Sunset Nails--located next to TJ Maxx-- however, I couldn't get an appointment post quarantine because everyone was running back to the salons. At Sunset you can get a brand new set as well as a spa pedicure for the equivalent of what Rendezvous charged me for one LOUSY tip set. I had to ask my nail tech numerous times to reshape multiple nails because they were the exact opposite of a neat square. They were clunky and awkward. Even after having them reshape, I went home and continued to file myself. As for the spa pedicure, it earns two stars for being decently relaxing. However, again the nail techs scrambled to come up with a price. What used to be a $45 pedicure was raised to $50 for no particular reason other than they wanted to scam people into paying surge charges post quarantine. I was also supposed to receive a ten minute massage and only received seven minutes. Overall, this was a disappointing experience to say the least. Do yourself a favor and go to Sunset Nails (by appointment). They will do a much neater, long lasting job, give an amazing massage and your wallet won't be screaming afterwards!!!

The nail techs are ok, but definitely don't know many techniques. Don't ask them for anything other than a one color gel polish or you will be sorry. The owner is incredibly rude and obviously hates his customers. I will definitely be going back to my old salon.
